If you want a cheap NRL fullback maybe Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad is a realystic option. I'm not sure but he's probably elegible for Straya or at least he's going to be elegible very soon. Do u like him? lol

Also you can turn a skilled League player into an Union fullback like Folau who used to be a winger/centre in League. KB (Kurtley Beale) lost his starter spot in Wallabies against a NRL winger
That’s a bit of revisionism. Folau didn’t debut at 15 for the Wallabies until 5 years after his last NRL club appearance at wing.

Most NRL wingers talented enough to shift in to centre or fullback will, because those positions pay more, they start on the wing because it’s the easier position. Folau started on the wing and moved into centre his 2nd year.

Members pack arrived. I'm giving the 2022 cap a 7/10, a point down on last year's effort, but still pretty nice. ISC seem to make good stuff.

It's the same in Rugby, wing is the easiest position at the backline. Nonu started at the wing in ABs and then switched to the centre

Form? We will see, but he has been doing well in France (which a much higher standard than Super Rugby AU - I don't think the issue with the drop ins was anything more than cohesion issues, they just need time to work on structures while building trust that they know where units will be) and Beale got better within the Wob structure

He has a point of difference in that he has the ability to add something different from the back as he has that "poacher" mentality in a test side that needs someone who can read the game, our outside backs are currently filled with athletes as opposed to footballers.

Someone who can read a game and put other players in space in the outside channels will be useful

Out of interest, would Beale likely make the France 35 squad?

No they invest in youth. Average age is 25. Their fullback Jaminet is 22 and 24 by the RWC. The other FB Ramos is 26.

Roebuck was 26 when the 1991 Wallaby won Bill and Matt Burke was 26 in 1999.

Not many of our backs would barring Koroibete & Kerevi. Our forward pack would.

Not many of our backs (or forwards) are playing in France with that experience being sited as justification for RA top up and anticipation of WB service.

Hopefully I can get a straight answer from fp.

Pretty nice! Does it always rain a lot during February in NSW? When I lived in Manly (February 2020), it rained almost every day. I remember a non-stop rain for 8 days or something like that lol

Come on! They are not the ABs 2015 and they are French. So they aren't consistent for a long time. I remember that France was the favourite for RWC 2007 cause they won the 6 Nations at the same year and finally they were average at best

On the flipside, the Wallaby backline is clearly our weakness at the moment.

I don't think this is unreasonable. Koroibete and Kerevi are our only two dominant backs. Our next best back last season was Kellaway.

The next best last year was QC (Quade Cooper) and Ikitau looks ok, he's going to improve with game time at that level.

If we want to be positive can imagine Vunivalu in his first Super Rugby season standing out quickly as Folau and Koroibete in their transition to Union

Nah, France are very good and likely RWC winners/favourites

But being good enough to play 15 for the Wobs, well, that is a lower level.

We can have solid, safe units who kick long or someone a bit more of a threat

I don't know if he will be up to it or not, but the bar isn't that high

You have to talk with that lads to know who are real patriots who want to play for their country in a World Cup. I heard that Ponga is a diehard All Blacks supporter lol
