Don’t think these figures are correct, number of full time members was cut under the new CBA, and part time contracts were introduced. Reds have 32 full time and 5 part time players not he EDS.

It has also been said elsewhere that the $1million underspend is an exaggeration

I don't see what problem you could have with Penney? performances improved over the course of last season and then his team was gutted.

There's a lot of raw talent in the Tahs, but they are getting worse and worse. It seems the longer Penney coaches them, the worse Harrison, Maddocks, Ramm and Nawaqantiwase are getting. Nobody from the Tahs are playing better now than they were playing last year. The weak roster is one thing, but the young squad should be getting better over time. They are getting worse.

Sure, but the roster is also notable weaker than last year and, due to injuries, is weaker now than it was in game 1.

At every level, players look better in better teams. The Tahs available playing roster is definitely playing a part.

We clearly watched different games. Though, yes, aimless kicks, poor passes etc. Id add some of the softest contact ive ever seen from professional rugby players. Markymark is terrified of contact.

No, watched the same game. Marky Marks fear of contact had nothing to do with the "noodle" forwards. Why change him to fullback? It was a pretty shit effort all round, and that includesTizzano and Swinton so not sure what channel you had on. Of course, Penney has nothing to do with any of it

Agree with that, he throws the ball away rather than be tackled to the ground or hesitates and is weak into contact and gets turned. It’s not like he will ever win you a turnover back probably least likely player to do so on the field. Defensive positioning and contribution are poor and that’s roughly 50% of game but higher in the Tahs case.

Not one of these players (minus Maddocks) had played super rugby prior to Penny, so not sure how they are getting worse. Been at the game last night, the main thing I saw was they just got belted in the contact on both sides of the ball.

Agreed. The aimless pointless kicking, hot potato football was the same last year. Penney and Whittaker (Who Penney kept despite being a crap attack coach) need to change things.

Right from the botched kick off (was that Penney's fault, incidentally?) most of the team were visibly not up to standard. Raw talent. Hah. Most of them are second-raters, frankly.
