I’d be concerned with Beale that playing intuitively devolves to taking opportunity for himself more than for those outside him. It needs a balance at 10 that is skewed to the outside men, imo.

I’m actually intrigued as to how he goes.

Can't really change a defensive system six days before your first game. Guess he will spend his time working on technique, timing and decision making.
In the SMH article on the previous page it talks about how he will work with the Defensive system that Tandy implemented with the Tahs.

It is a make do while the younglings prove they are better, most of the Aus sides don't actually have a quality Super Rugby standard 10s with Foley, Cooper and Lealiifano all leaving there is a massive hole to be filled in aus rugby

What is left with any experience @10 is Beale, To'omua and Hegarty. Each has weaknesses and are a bit meh IMHO

But we will make do and hope

I know that forwards in particular tend to develop later in their career, but I always wonder with Abel. Never great at the lineout, always struggled to hook the ball, misses tackles like no other front rower. His strenghts were his agility and speed, with lots of attacking runs and support play at the breakdown, but these strengths never really covered for his weaknesses in other areas. I'd like to see him do well, but a lot has to have changed for that to happen.

It looks likely Lucas will be our 10, but Bryce will certainly play there too.
