Yeah, that was widely reported. It required surgery. I still would not have thought it would require a year to heal though.
It’s the same injury that Horwill never looked the same after :/

Cron has been very effective at SS level. No apparent reason why his ability should not be effective at Soup level. Let us hope so, anyway. I would love to see the Tahs playing with the cohesive and verve of the Shoremen.
I rate Cron highly, but isn't Gibson still running the show? . Or have I missed something?
Nothing official but its been suggested Cron is throwing his weight around
History suggests that that is the hallmark of successful Waratah coaches. Gibson seems a nice guy but is hopelessly out of his depth.
Coaches? Plural? I can only remember one successful Tahs coach, but my memory is not all that wonderful. Enlighten me, please. Apart from Chubby, who else has won a few games?
For someone so old and wise, you seem to have a short memory. McKenzie took them to the super rugby final in 2005, semi-final in 2006 and the final again in 2008.

From all accounts Gibson is/was a very good hands on coach, but struggled as standard hands off type head coach. So this season we see him doing hands on defensive stuffGood. While this is a significant step up for him I really like how Cron seems to be able to get his teams playing open, skillful Rugby that's always great to watch. With the added factor of actually winning while doing so. Seems to be able to get the best out of his squad. Which is what a good coach does.
As for Gibson. I'm sure he tries hard but the bloke's no head coach. At least not at this level.

We will see if it works

Cron's team was also bloody good defensively.
Hanigan needs to put on more muscle and hopefully during the preseason he does.
What pre-season? He returned from the EOYT injured so he has to go into rehab and because he's a Wallaby he doesn't start training till the second week in January. That leaves about 5 weeks before he has to play. He needs at least a full three months to build the sort of bulk and power he needs, probably more.
If he was a New Zealander, he would be told to take the three months in the gym.
And we wonder why we lag behind the buggers.
Macqueen didn't lose a game in 1991, a year which included tours of Argentina and New Zealand. Set the foundations for our RWC success.Coaches? Plural? No, they wouldn’t..
Looking like Thor means nothing If you lack the necessary attributes developed through skills sessions, opposed training and match time..that’s why we lag behind the buggers, not because they spend months in the gym more then the aussies.
