I really wouldn't mind seeing Carraro and Horne switch positions TBH, Matt Didn't let us down last year at centre when AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) was injured and Horne's best career form has been on the wing.

I think this season is going to see a pretty heavy changing of the guard at the Tahs. A number of the old heads have now been there too long and I expect enthusiasm to trump experience.

My theory with Carraro is that he hadn't had let anyone down yet or had a poor enough game to justify dropping him- basically until now. I don't think his 'consistency' is enough to continually start him over other players like Stewart, Kellaway or Robinson who have greater upside as well as youth on their side.

I like Carraro and think he was been excellent as a Mr Fixit. Able to play multiple positions and never let us down when we needed him.

Now our team isn't as good and I think we can do better injecting a bit more pace out wide.

I'd be looking to give Reece Robinson a crack. I thought he looked good off the bench against the Highlanders and there is no doubt he's the fastest player in our squad.

Carraro is a good guy to have on the bench, particularly if we're playing a 6:2 split.

^^^^^^

That makes sense to me and in the aftermath of the clash against the Clan I said in the match thread that the two changes that I'd like to see this week are Holloway and R. Robinson as starters. I'd be happy to see Carraro retained on the bench.

I'd also like to see B.Robinson return to the starting line up if he's fit. We're going to need to start well in the scrum dept against this strong element of the Reds' playbook.

Carraro at 15? Has Matt played there previously? Can he kick? If anyone's going to fill in for Folau and Beale at the back surely it's Guildford.

Izzy had never played at15 before and let's face it, his kicking is the weakest part of his game.

I'd bring Guildford on as an impact player when the other team is tired. You could then shift Izzy back to 15, Horne to 13 and Cararro to wing.

I think sticking with what you know works is probably a better approach. With Foley back there should be a a better structure to the backline. maybe Robinson should get more time though

The prince wants taste of 15-man game

Sevens superstar Cameron Clark could be headed to the Waratahs next year.

What do u think? Could he play at winger, right?

That back 5 behind, that front row. Why not start Benn Robinson, Reds are locking their lips.

Spiro in today's SMH thinks the Waratahs are soft at the breakdown because they have conceded the least amount of penalty goals. Interesting. My first thoughts at that statistic was that they are better disciplined than other teams or give away all their breakdown penalties out of goal kicking range or perhaps other teams prefer going for the try against us because of our poor scrum. I would never have made the leap that this stat shows they're soft.

The Tahs pretty clearly have a tactic of not contesting the breakdown unless they make a dominant tackle and can see a turnover opportunity.

There is generally only one or two players committed to try and slow the ball down but not an all out attack at eat tackle like the Brumbies etc.

They've been doing this for about three years (although perhaps it is more apparent this year). Presumably that means it's only a year or two longer until Spiro catches on and writes about it as if he's the first to notice.

I believe SMH will print the apology and correction to the article tomorrow.
They will not.

They never apologised for Greg Growden's batshit crazy rubbish, or criminally lazy rumour mongering, or oddly placed food reviews.

I sincerely hope Greg is trawling:

The SMH fired you too late, you pretender. If you were to "shine a light in a dark area" you could start with your arse. You might find your head.
