Zac Guildford lost his charity boxing match against NZ's Batchelor Art Green.
Not a great sign lol

He lost against a pop star like Justin Bieber :eek::eek:

Lee Grant

John Eales (66)
Height: 194 cm
Weight: 104 kg

He's a bit thin to play at second row

Ned won't be a second row in Super Rugby. He will be a 6 that can play lock sometime in the game if needed.

The young second rower to look forward to in future years is young giraffe Ryan McCauley who was a 2015 Schools player and was training with the Tahs today.

He needs a lot of work on his upper body but they say that his core strength around the hip area etc is fine.

There is a blog on Waratahs training today here:

Give it a click.

Thanks, it is interesting to see many players need time to get their core fitness and skills up to super standard under pressure (like Kellaway) Link said somewhere it can take near two years in a program to get there physically

Anywho, I think the Tahs are in for a lean year :(

It is also, presumably, a function of age.

Talking about up and comers, I really like the look of Cameron Orr.

Like you, I don't think they'll make the semi's. But I am looking forward to a good development year with a view to being very competitive in 2017. I have a good feeling about players like Sam Lousi, who I thought was developing nicely till he got injured, Kellaway and Holloway. There are holes to be filled this year and if we do, next year could be anything.

^^^^^^

Good thoughts there Hawko. Sometimes reserve players never get an opportunity in the main team because the incumbents stay healthy - then when they do get a chance, say, when the Tahs played the B&I Lions - you can see the quality.

But they need regular play and take their licks to really develop.

Agree on Sam Lousi though he has to make more of an impression in contact both with and without the ball; his impressive passing game, including offloading, will only take him so far.

Agree about Orr - it's hard to assess props of his age, but he looks like a keeper.

Well, I was wrong about Sio, Lee, I doubted that he was up to starting at Test level, just yet.

Not sure whether Orr is up to Soup yet, but here's hoping.

I'm looking an user who works for the NSWRU or know someone there.

Not too many users in the NSWRU though some have been known to have a shandy or two - and some are rumoured to use the hard stuff - gin and whisky.

When I first saw Sio he was playing no. 8 for CAS at Knox before he switched to prop in the same game. Therefore I thought he could be a hooker as a senior player. How wrong were we both?

Mind you, I still have hopes for Vuni Fifita to wear the 2 jersey some day - and my thoughts on Matt Sandell, ditto, may be close to the mark, so I hear.

Forgive me for upstaging you, Your Ancientness, but after watching young Scott from about age 8, and having a good close-up at his father's bod, I couldn't see any reason why he wouldn't make it as a top level prop. He was on another level from those physically-blessed young lads from parts east of us. And that includes Michael Ala'alatoa. Some old lags at West Harbour reckoned young Michael'd make a bloody good number 8, his physical play off the ball indicated he was tailor made for it. Michael disagreed, and continued to want to poke his head into scrums. I was one of those wishing he'd at least give it a go.

Yeah, I think we will be battling the Rebels for second in our group, the Ponies should make the semis if they can get past their kick, clap and maul inclinations and play some rugby; and the rebels are a team on the up if they can sort out the 12/13

Only changes I'd make to that are 6. Dennis 8. Holloway and 14. Kellaway but who knows. Yours is basically the back line I'm hoping to see.

I'd put Beale at 12 and Robinson at 15.

Guildford and Horne wings. Not sure Kellaway is better than either just yet.

Really want Izzy @ 13.

Kellaway would be behind Carraro too.
The problem with that is Robinson's defense. According NRL fans he can't tackle

I agree with KB (Kurtley Beale) @ 12,I'm yet to be convinced that IF @ 13 strengthens the side,
He is world class 15, both Horne & Carraro are strong at 13.
Robinson has yet to demonstrate he is worthy of a spot in match day squad, let alone starting at 15,
No doubt time will tell.

I might be Red, but have to say I'm with Q51 and ILTW. I think Foley needs creativity immediately outside him. Thats not Horne.

Though you play Beale with a seriously roving 15 role and leave Horne at 12 in defense. Number on the bavk would then be academic.
