As for the stadiums plan, I think it's certainly worth investing in new stadiums to replace the SFS and Parramatta Stadium. The only thing I don't like is redeveloping ANZ. It won't change the fact you're way too far away from the action in the 2 main grandstands. I'd rather they just let that one live out its days as is then replace it with something new and better in 10-15 years. There's no need for a multipurpose venue. The SCG and Sydney Showgrounds are perfectly adequate for AFL and cricket.
My understanding is that ANZ will be converted to a rectangular stadium and the stands will be moved closer to the grounds.
It's not just the immediate electorates in vicinity of the stadium that it appeals to, it's the electorates of all those who prefer to go to a games at Moore Park rather then travelling west to ANZ Stadium.
Like I said, no team draws crowds of 55'000 out of finals series, what's the highest average crowd in Sydney? 25'000? Which blockbuster games will get played at the new stadium? A Super Rugby SF once every 10 years? An A-League GF perhaps? The NRL GF, State of Origin and Bledisloe Cup matches will remain at a newly developed ANZ Stadium.
Just because it was an election commitment and they currently have the money doesn't mean it's a good idea. Upgrade the stadium but don't expand its capacity beyond what's required.
I didn't read that, this whole proposal bar the upgrade of Parramatta Oval looks like a bit of shit fight then, they're investing money in the wrong areas.
NSW should be aiming to build the premier rectangular stadium in the country, not some multi-purpose stadium that leaves fans squinting to see the action.
An 85'000 strictly rectangular stadium is what Sydney needs, this will host your big events and provide the intimate atmosphere all fans seek.
Moore Park should feature an upgraded stadium of 45'000 capacity max, all major events can shift to the new major stadium.
Any 'oval' sports can play at the SCG or the GWS Stadium in Homebush.

I'd prefer they spend that money on something really good like a hospital,or heaven forbid rail to Northern beaches or another spit crossing......That's a fair point, I just disagree about it being a politically motivated decision. The NSW Government is sitting on a 40% margin in the 2PP polls and there isn't an election for another 3.5 years, and if they really wanted to pander there are better ways to spend that money.
I question the need to rebuild Allianz, but in its current form it really struggles with any crowd over 30K. You could do a refurb, but if you've got the cash then why not knock it down and build something that is really good?
Again, from a purely Waratahs perspective, I can't see how this is anything but a positive.

Yeah,I'll give you concessions. Here are 3 ways off the very top of my head:
1. Better spectator experience. Will be high-tech with better food and drink services and amenities inside- which is something people complain about ALL THE TIME at the SFS so I'm amazed you haven't heard it. Easier access from the road.
2. Better corporate experience. This is a big one. The corporate boxes at the SFS are in shitty locations, and limits the amount of support that teams based there can receive, and limits the services they can provide.
3. Possibility to include underground parking, which can only help as you mentioned.

Ultimately ANZ Stadium is cursed by having to host the Olympics. It's too big to knock down, we just have to work with what we've got. An 85k rectangular ground would be great, but I can't see that happening any time soon.

Suncorp stadium isn't a full rebuild, they utilised an existing main stand in the superstructure of the new stadium.
