The other Folau brothers haven't demonstrated the work ethic/ability in RL to be like big brother

Google says Eni has been playing for Cabramatta RL in the Ron Massey Cup, that isn't the best of backgrounds

No, it's not.

Getting a guy to train in a somewhat professional environment for a while and not paying him is hardly a big investment for the Tahs to make. Even if all it does is make Izzy happier it's not the worst idea ever. If he shows no promise they'll probably stop fairly quickly. If it turns out he has some natural talent and they can motivate him it could be a good move.

I have no issue with the Tahs doing this sort of thing with whoever they please. It's not like they've handed the guy a contract.

I can't see anything special about Jack Dempsey .A spot should be available for Jim Stewart Dynamic player (not related to him lol)

There would be few who have that opinion about Dempsey - but that is neither here nor there because we all have different assessments about players and different rugby issues.

We wouldn't have a forum it we all thought the same.

It is your dismissive, jeering manner which we find in schoolboy rugby forums all too often, that I find fault with.

It is quite OK to criticise Latu and others in the future but a word to the wise: please moderate your remarks else you will not last long here.

And if you read this brumbies20years - the same goes for you. You and Gold Nugget joined the forum yesterday, and you had an official complaint against you in a different thread on your first day.

Know each other?

why?

what has he done to deserve it?

This is Cheika's third year and he has invited no-name ex-league players to train FOC each year—some at the instigation of their clubs to help with their transition.

Elijah Niko, Ryan Dalziel and James Cunningham come to mind.

There is nothing unusual about Eni Folau being in the training squad. It would be only a problem if they had quite a few league players in transition in the group.

Who knows - if they have that competition for the Super Rugby B teams this year, he could get a run, as Cunningham did last year, in the Gen Blue side.

One thing the tahs proved last year is that a strong set piece isnt needed to win a super rugby title. Theoretically this team would be good

1. Robinson 2. Polota-Nau 3. Kepu 4. Potgeiter 5. Skelton
6. Elsom/ Hoiles 7. Hooper 8. Palu 9. Phipps 10. Foley
11. Naiyavoro/ Betham 12. Beale 13. Ashley-Cooper 14. Horne 15. Folau

16. Latu 17. Ryan 18. Tilse 19. Holloway/ Lousi 20. Dennis/Gray 21. Mckibbon 22. Lance 23. Kellaway

Its tough i think, dennis is needed for the line-out so he will be in the starting line-up for sure especially since hes still captain but an in-form elsom or hoiles of last season are better at pretty much everything else i think

What about Naiyavoro? How is he physically, right now? He has lost even more weight?

What about Naiyavoro? How is he physically, right now? He has lost even more weight?

He looks pretty fit and was smashing them at one hit-out I saw. Will Skelton looks a bit trimmer - he came back early and the trainers flogged him. Cliff Palu looks raring to go and very fit.

Pete Betham is the problem - he is not training. I always forget to ask what his injury is but he had a tricky foot injury didn't he? He is not running.

Dave Dennis is changing direction now but may miss the first round. Tala Gray may not be available either at the start after having his knee cleaned out.

All of the Wallabies showed up after New Year but I haven't seen Hooper, Phipps, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Folau and Foley since the first day - must have got extra time off which makes sense but Horne and Beale have been regulars with Beale extremely sharp before he got a ding earlier this week. Fat Cat has been active too.

Geez the games they play to get technical training down pat have improved a lot - no doubt all over the world. The difference with five years ago is like chalk and cheese.

If you can have fun getting flogged all the time by the coaches, it's the way to have it.

Here's the jersey with Ricoh on the shoulders.

If this was a school photo I can almost see mum in the background clicking to get Adam's attention.

Focus on the camera, man! (apologies to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) if he's a bit cross-eyed - I can't decide if that's the case.)

No lee Grant we don't know each other .seemsthis forum is about blowing wind up certain favourites the choosing few rear . Can't have an opinion ?

You miss the point, I fear deliberately.

As I said:

It is your dismissive, jeering manner which we find in schoolboy rugby forums all too often, that I find fault with.

It's not the opinion but the manner you express it that I question.

We have had problems in the forum with one-day members before (and we will have them again).

Often they go back in a thread and quote a post that wasn't censured and ask why this bloke was allowed to get away with it, and I wasn't.

Well, I could find a few myself, but they are typically from people who have posted enough to earn a little slack and we tolerate the odd one or two from them.

But you joined yesterday and have to earn the right.

Those 31 are in, although I don't recall that an announcement was made about Mike Ala'alatoa or Hugh Roach. I don't recall that Andrew Kellaway was officially announced either but he is in. Sam Lousi was announced officially.

That would make 33.

Auvasa Faleli'i will be in as the third scrumhalf to make 34.

But I have heard that flanker Jack Dempsey and wing Henry Clunies-Ross, who have been outstanding pre-season, will also be named. That adds up to 36; so if 35 is the right number some of my info must be bunk.

Jim Stewart, Matt Philip, Dave Porecki and prop Eni Folau (Izzy's brother) will stay with the training group.
.

Here's a good look at the top squad.

So Dempsey and Clunies-Ross round out the 35 man squad.

Just Tala Gray and Jacques Potgieter missing from the photos today.
