The move of Beale to Melbourne is bad news for the Tahs, as he has already developed into the standard of player I thought he would be at when he was at school. He is our best flyhalf at the minute and the best fullback in Oz. This versatility is priceless in times like now when so many Tahs backs are not available.

The Tahs could decide to keep Halangahu to back up Barnes, because the next flyhalf in line at the minute is 20 y.o. Ben Seymour of Manly with 19 y.o. Rohan Saifoloi in the wings.

The likely departure of Burgess is not good news either with Nick Phipps likely to remain in Melbourne. McKibbin will be the man, but Josh Holmes could get a reprieve because the next fellow in the Tahs stable is Ed Bedenhann, who has just turned 20.

There are some harder heads than these young fellows in the Sydney comp in the 9 and 10 positions and outside the stable, but the halves depth situation for the Tahs next year does not look great.

What about JOC (James O'Connor)? It seems the Tahs and Reds are the only ones not chasing him, and I don't see why NSW shouldn't be. It would probably be the best move for his own development, and also for the Wallabies - playing 12 in a class backline.

Probably very far-fetched, I'm just surprised haven't heard the Waratahs throw their hat in the ring!

Will Hickey be Coach next year? I'm starting to think Tim Lane retruning from Georgia in a RWC year was a bit providential. Hickey may well be contracted next year? but we all know that means nothing in the land of the Tahs.

I don't know what they'd have to entice him to come. If they couldn't out-money the Rebels for KB (Kurtley Beale), they won't be able for JOC (James O'Connor). Higher publicity and closer to family perhaps. At the same time, Melbourne is still plenty close compared to Perth, if that's what's on his mind.

Rumour (Rugby Cub?) was saying that Hickey intended to retire at the end of the season, with Foley being likely successor.

Financially, probably not. However, from a professional perspective, NSW would probably be his best option. NSW would give JOC (James O'Connor) the ability to become a world-class player by focusing one a single position. Most likely 12, and foreseeably 10 or 15. I anticipate players should, and will, begin to consider their own development more in deciding between team. Due to the fact that JOC (James O'Connor) will no doubt have the opportunity to earn some serious money later on over in Europe, thus it is not as essential to earn bigger money while playing in Australia.

The player in question would want to like the coach in question for that. Which isn't settled for the Tahs. I'm not sure that JOC (James O'Connor) will leave the force, but of all the other franchises, I'd say the Reds or the Rebels would have the best chances of getting him on professional development grounds. I doubt the Reds would be going after him.

Fuck me, almost half of them are QLDers!

We could certainly do a lot worse.

kurtley going does mean Tom Carter keeps his starting spot, with every death comes rebirth as they say.

i dont think the reds would be a great place for JOC (James O'Connor) to develop, playing next to quade when your best asset is in close stepping and his is cut out passes isnt the best thing. that said JOC (James O'Connor) would go alright anywhere. i think being behind a decent pack should be his number one priority, would love to see him come to the tahs but think melbourne would snag him.

he would do very well at 12 outside a traditional flyhalf like barnes, but would he be able to get hte 12 jersey off carter or would he be stuck on the bench.

qld'ers have to come to nsw for a game cos the reds backline is full of immigrants.

Tim Lane is already assisting the Junior Waratahs 1-2 days a week.

Well I guess the Tahs will really be in the shit if Barnes's head doesn't come right.

The Tah's will have their marquie signing back on the plate in 2012 when they get rid of Anessi?

Don't forget that Greyson Heart is hanging around.
