I can't help but mention the 3 losses, and close ones at that, have been the result of poor kicking.

Vs Qld kicked it back to them instead of out
Vs Otago didn't kick a simple conversion
Vs Force aimless kicking in general

Maybe time to get Ben Perkins in there?
And Hangers missed a kickable penalty V the force

Cliffy's not out again already is he? I thought he had a good game (relatively speaking) on Sat
Ummm...Cliff didn't play on Saturday :) Metuisela started with Stanford brought on to the bench because L.Timani had all his visa troubles.

I am still dubious about the value of Jenkins. His only positive is his defense. He doesn't do much in attack or get a plethora of turnovers.

Alcock may miss a tackle or two but he runs well, still tackles plenty

A very reliable and well connected source told me yesterday that the Tahs did a survey on injuries last year and it emerged that there was something in the way they were training them that was causing hamstring issues......anyone know anything about this (other than that it has an obvious ring of plausibility about it)?

Only one person did a hammy..

Their injuries weren't a result of overtraining, there were no bicep/pectoral tears etc.

Horne & Palu & Tahu (remember him - another inspired tahs signing - why am I reminding myself?)...Elsom's got a hammy issue which seems to predate his present stint with the Tahs but could go back as far as his first stint with them. Beale had one last year - carried into this year.
Turner has a hammy injury but that was a freak accident from what I saw.
I dont see how you can rule out overtraining or the wrong sort of training just because there were no pec or bicep tears - which is wrong anyway: Phil Waugh did one or the other or both last year.

Tahu turned up to the tahs a crock his hammies were so bad he could not literally run more than 80%.
They had to teach him a new running style to reduce the risk of his hammies going again.
They actually rehabilitated him and lengthened his career.

I've noticed Fat Cat giving away some dumb penalties this year which is most unlike him.

His defence was the difference between us winning or losing the Red's game... If an attacking 7 is so important we should play Pakalani there this weekend

I disagree with any one player being blamed a particular loss, his missed tackles are a issue. But is replacing him with someone who essentially only tackles the answer?

The challenge for the Tahs at the moments is the lack of attacking threat across the part.

I expect that to change markedly with some more direct runners being available this week.

Timami, Palu, Alcock, Carter and with Timani the younger on the bench all should add some thrust as well as making the bench more of a threat.

The tahs have major problems in the backrow, where does Dennis go when Rocky is fit, he will probably leave at the end of the season, why would he stay when the captain and senior player is always going to be picked first.

Palu is now injury prone and nowhere near his best and may also leave, who is the clear replacement.

Alcock is on contract for next year but is not a complete openside, average at the breakdown and poor defensively, sounds like McCutheon has resigned or will resign but he is no 7 either.
Surely they will target Pocock if they can fit him in under the cap, who else?

I don't think Dennis will go anywhere.

Between Elsom, Palu and Dennis we have three excellent 6/8 players. I think Dennis will safely assume that there will be very few games where Elsom and Palu are both fit and thus he will start pretty much every game.
