I think Moore plays better as a starter and under pressure than off the bench. TPN will give the wabs a tremendous lift off the bench so can be injected for effect

This notion of impact of the bench is rubbish. Your best players start, whether that is Moore or TPN up to you but don't base your decision on who has a greater impact off the bench.

Why not? a bench player may have 30 odd minutes to play. And normally when the teams are getting knackered.
The first half is usually to determine who is the dominant team, the second half is when they score the points.

Agreed. Can anyone tell me where the best player in a position usually starts off the bench and the 2nd best guy is starting every week? How often do you leave the no.1 guy on the bench so you can have some 'impact' players in 50min??

As an aside: SBW (hip) and Rene Ranger (hammy) look like they've picked up some reasonably serious injuries in the Saders/Blues match.

You cannot beat the top sides in this day and age without having 22 quality players. Impact players coming off the bench often determine the outcome of a test.
Far too often the Wallabies have lost close test matches against the ABs and SA because our replacements have not been able to play at the same level as those they have replaced.
Who is the better hooker out of Stephen Moore and TPN? Hard to say but Moore is probably better suited to starting and TPN will most likely have a bigger impact on the game coming from the bench with 30 minutes to go.
A fired up Luke Burgess can really change the pace of a test in the last quarter.
Rugby is now a game of 22 players rather than 15 players plus 7 replacements if needed.

Normally I'd agree with this, but TPN and Moore are the exception to the rule. Both are absolutely world class players who bring a few different things to the table. Generally, I think it's better for the Wallabies to start Moore and bring TPN on in the last 20 or so too.

Any news on Peter Hynes?
I have a suspicion that he will make the WC squad provided he can get on the field in the Tri Nations. When fit, I think we all agree he is a test match player and if Mitchell doesn't make it I can see Hynes providing good cover along with Ioane and JOC (James O'Connor) on the wing. I certainly belieive Deans is more likely to stick with people who've been in the system under him for the last few years (provided they are fit) than seeing relevant newbies and inexperienced test match players come into the squad for the WC such as Morahan, McCabe.
I beleive Deans rates Hynes highly and will give him every opportunity to prove his fitness. I certainly think Deans rates him higher than Lachie Turner.
So does anyone have any news on Hynes' return or recovery?

Christ you'd wanna hope so! :)

Oh and I've got no idea about Hynes' recovery. Really really hope he gets to have a bit of a run this Super 15 - I really rate him.

Morahan is expected to miss the rest of the season, while Davies is in doubt for Saturday's clash with the Chiefs in New Zealand.
