As much as I hate the phrase, this seems to be a Win Win...

Continuity for the Wallabies and the Reds, with time to work out the best assistant coaches for the Wallabies and the new Reds coach for 2027.

Quite refreshing after all the coach selection process debacles since Link walked away

Not to mention that Schmidt has been going great, especially giving the EJ (Eddie Jones) nadir where he started.

At this point surely Schmidt should just stay on til the World Cup. He’s extended his self imposed deadline twice and has taken numerous jobs since leaving the Irish job for the same reasons that he left the Wallabies job

Not a long run in for a rookie international coach into a World Cup for Kiss. Hope for the best but will be a huge learning curve for the guy (despite the fact people seem to think he’s a Joe Schmidt clone)

There is that whole thing about his son needing medical care.

Smart arse comments aside this seems a bloody good outcome to me.
Im aware of his son's condition and I was being dead serious.

I know he wont stay on but it only being another 12 odd months makes you wish he would
