Ok footy fans.... who is going to be the Wallaby coach after Aussie Joe leaves our shores and crosses back over the ditch? We need someone to continue to build on what Joe has achieved. Who is the best man for the job?

My opinion is still…

Cheika - been there, don’t that… not quite Eddie 2.0, but long term would not be great.

Kiss, McKellar, Larkham - I don’t think any of them are quite ready, and Kiss and McKellar in particular need more time with their respective teams. Promoting any of them this early in the season could be a disaster and a complete PR nightmare if their SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) results aren’t good.

I could get behind Cheika for this reason. It's realistically 10-15 tests between taking over and a home WC appearance. The most critical set of matches for Australian Rugby for 24 years.

We need a short term option. Can think about long term after the WC.

The selection process should be, "who is most likely to get Australia to the final of the 2027 WC"

What an absolute colossal cock up it is that we sacked Rennie to get EJ (Eddie Jones) (Eddie Jones), coach our worst RWC ever, then in turn get a coach who'll leave us coachless two seasons out of the most important RWC performance in 30 years.
Honestly, Eddie bottoming out Australian rugby has actually been the only thing that has managed to force genuine change. Without the debacle there probably isn't any Peter Horne which means there isn't any Joe Schmidt or the level of smart decision making in regards to centralization etc.

If it didn't happen we would have Dan McKellar as Wallabies coach and a broken system and we'd all be deluding ourselves into thinking it would all magically change one day
