We were the worst lineout in TRC last year.

Carter and Fardy started all test matches in the TRC last year, Simmons missed the historic loss against Argentina..
Wallabies started 4 different hookers through the TRC, but hey let's blame Simmons for all of it...

I thought people were past all this...

It still doesn't excuse his poor lineout management........

And unfortunately he's still probably the best man for the job.........

His poor line out management?! Try to quantify that in a meaningful way, I double dare you.

As others have alluded to...the Wobs used 4 different hookers and carried two notably average jumpers in the 23 for a lot of tests last year. There are many reasons why the line out struggled in patches, Simmons relative skill in the area is unlikely to be one of them.

I challenge you to find a clear thinking fan who doesn't agree that Simmo is one of Australia's pre-eminent line out operators.

We were the worst lineout, the stats will probably show that.
I certainly wouldn't sheet all the blame home to the guy calling and jumping. Or anyone, really. It's a group thing. The main "sin" from Simmons was maybe overcalling himself, which was probably understandable, and hardly worth hanging him for.

I reckon the biggest RWC squad call will be the 3rd hooker: Charles or Fainga'a.

I'm also predicting only 2 halfbacks in the squad. Never quite understood the point of 3, they rarely get injured and take minimum collisions per game. No issues with workload.

Putting White, Genia, Phipps and even Burgess into 2 will be a tough call.

I thought Charles was very good in his first Bledisloe before injury.. I haven't been impressed with both however in Super Rugby thus far. It would be a tight call between the two.

Perhaps, but it's a poor claim to blame all the line-out woes on simmons when the two most accurate line-out throwers were out with injury.. Defensive line-put pods operate independently, that is Fardy and Carter weren't reliant on Simmons lineput management yet Australia was still woefully lacking in winning opposition ball.

I don't think Fardy, Carter, Fainga'a, Charles or Hanson would try and avoid assuming some of the responsibility of what happened at the lineouts.

Charles is the second most accurate lineout thrower in the country behind Moore.. The rest of his game isn't as good..

For real? The Force lineout has been pretty poor.
Yep in 2013-2014 Charles was extremely accurate, yet Moore was still the best in the county.
Interestingly when the force lineout is poor it's the hookers fault, when the wallabies lineout is poor it's the locks fault..

Perhaps there is an equilibrium there that we should start acknowledging.

It's all up for grabs as third hooker. I think Fainga'a is in the best position because he has enough experience while also being a decent impact player. But in a world cup year you're not building for the future so who knows, maybe Josh Mann Rae will add to his caps.

Wallaby Josh or Bongo is actually playing really well this season, if it wasn't for Moore, he'd give the Wallabies 3rd Hooker a good shake. But I dont think his going to see the game time to get the call.. probably Fainga'a or Charles for mine..

Its all their fault, if your in a crappy lineout your in a crappy lineout.. And I see no reason the wallabies should have a crappy one with the cattle avaliable.
