I've got to say after the execution and intensity of the NZ V Ireland game that was a big step down. What is it with Oz sides and slow ball at the ruck. The ball is sitting there for half an hour with Genia waving his arms about to his team mates, nobody changes position and then it is a pass one off the ruck and same again.
Welsh forums overflowing with hate on the ref, saying Vuna should have been red carded and generally all hometown-reffing. I thought he got most decisions spot-on and was good. What do you guys think?
Naaah! I'm an optimist, and I know from experience, the game aint over 'till the ref blows the pea!!

Bad luck Wales. I thought Sharpe was great and Barnes was good as well (and of course Pocock!)..but gee we gifted so many points to the Welsh. Made it a lot harder than it should have been.

Dear NZ, please send us more of your rejects. Thank you Mr Harris.
Thought the ref was pretty good. Got one call wrong for a pen against Wales at the scrum which Barnes subsequently missed so not much harm do there. Then other than the faffing about over a scrum that took forever I thought he had a pretty good game.
I could see from a Welsh point of view that maybe he could have called for Aus to use the ball from the maul that won the pen as it had clearly been stopped. Still didn't see enough for there to be calls for the refs head or anything.

The Welsh lineout in the first half (marginally improved in the second half) was woefull. For the second week running the accurate game that the Welsh allegedly played to win the 6N never materialised.
The Wallabies were lucky. This was a race to see which team could lose and the Welsh managed it with the final poorly executed kick of the evening.
One final point as has been made extensively on on the Scrum thread, FFS ban the hit. The scrums are a joke, as it stands, and I used to love the scrum.
Good Stuff. Are you an Irishman based in Oz Bardon? In my experience the hard wins are the ones that years later you remember with the most fondness.
I didn't think the Welsh offered much except good defense. They really constructed nothing out there except aside from the first 5 minutes when Oz gifted them field position.
Funny thing is he is likely to be dropped for Beale now! (maybe)
Or drop Vuna, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to wing, Beale to fullback.
See what are those unions complaining about, unskilled migrant workers are too bad..
He can add his name along side the likes of Eales, Burke and Beale for sealing a test win after the 80 with a kick.
Wales really have missed the option of Roberts coming onto the ball at pace and creating holes in midfield. Coupled with how badly Priestland's form was coming into the tour and has continued to be they've looked very pedestrian in attack. Wales are threatening when they can suck defenders in, in the middle of the pitch and then spin it wide to North and Cuthbert to maraud on the wings.
Without Roberts they don't have the ability to suck in as many defenders in the middle and with Priestland they can't get the ball wide quickly enough on the rare occasions they suck Aus players in.
Mortlock in South Africa. Can you add Bieber to that list? Can't remember if it was after the siren or not in Hong Kong. If it wasn't, then the Fat Shiela started her aria shortly after Biebers kick.
