Coleman likes.. being social.

Revs and 161 have been the downfall of more than a couple young Wallabies stationed in Melbourne. Maybe they should be stationed out in Balwyn or Ashburton rather than Richmond and Prahran.

Anyway, Wobs by 6.

Coleman was the outstanding Wallaby forward two seasons ago. I’m not ready to give up on him yet.
I’m guessing that we will see him next week.

He's also heading overseas.

It will be interesting whether Cheika names an updated squad this week.

I don't really see the point personally. I think he is competing with Arnold and Salakaia-Loto for the LH lock position. He isn't going to take Rodda's starting spot nor Simmons spot as the backup lineout caller after the shocker that our lineout was last year.

As is Arnold. He’s a better lock than LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) and can have much more impact than Simmons.
He’s with the squad.

Yes, but Arnold is a clear starter right now. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) might not remain as the starting 6 but I think that versatility pushes him ahead if you're looking at the overall squad makeup.

There are a bunch of players with the squad that are not part of the squad that was named to go to South Africa (and wasn't updated when they returned home for the Pumas game). My question was whether there will be a squad update or not.

I am saying I don't think Coleman will be given that bench role as backup lineout caller because he didn't do a good job with it last year. He might be capable of more impact from the bench in his best form but he has not displayed that at all this year. I'm not sure he'll get a run.

I’m sure he is still in the picture for Cheika. Lineout calling may not be his thing but he brings much more than Simmons, of whom I am a fan BTW.

If your dropping Coleman, then you have to drop Dempsey on the same basis.

Can't say I am convinced Dempsey has the form to justify going at this point. But not sure someone like Luke Jones done enough to probably unsurp him. Samu has to be in the squad but more backup/cover for 7/8 then 6. But I really have loved Samu's form this year and feel he is unlucky to miss out in match day 23 but with Pocock fit can't see where he can fit in as not really the tall lineout option 6 we would be plugging for.

The selectors can select whoever they want.

My take is that I think Dempsey is far more in the frame because he covers a couple of backrow positions and LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) hasn't exactly locked down the 6 jersey and Jones didn't do a good job off the bench against the Pumas.

I have said the reasons why I doubt Coleman will get a run. I could easily be wrong but those are my thoughts.

Reasonable argument that there is only space for one of Hooper or Pocock in a matchday 23. Not much point taking two 7s, particularly with Samu who covers all three spots.

If Pocock gets through his cameo in Sydney this weekend I reckon we are almost certainly going to see Pocock and Hooper as flankers with Naisarani at 8 in this game. The Pooper in a different format and makes sense with a proper 8.
