Wallabies v Wales, 6 July

KOB1987

John Eales (66)
Lots of rust.

The welsh halfback is so slow. The loosies should be all over him but I think there is a directive not to give away penalties.

Paisami is the poor mans Kerevi
Has never shown anything at international level
Need at least Skelton, Kerevi and koroibete back for rugby champs
Kerevi can’t pass or kick… Paisami can

kerevei undoubtedly the better crash ball runner though.

Our attackingaul needs some work, Slipper looks like he is in trouble with that knee. TT is on fire. Hunter totally average and Kellaway has done nothing.
Gordon and Tupou are our top players.

You need at least ONE big crash ball runner in your backline at international level. All the top teams have it. None on current Wallabies backline

I quite like the up tempo they are
Playing at and just no footy in our 40 policy by the looks of it.

We have been really accurate at our own breakdown.

Laurie fisher on the coaching staff has implemented his work yet again.

Brumby Runner

A few errors or poor execution of skills that need to be ironed out for the second half.

Daugunu has put in three absolutely atrocious kicks, one off the kickoff which he caught a couple of metres inside the 22 and put his clearance kick out on the 22. This play led to the Welsh penalty try a few phases later. Two other shockers. Cut his leg off if he tries another.

Gordon showed very poor decision making late in the half when Aussies had to clear a lineout maul and off the next ruck he passed the ball back to where all the Welsh forwards were coming across from the remnants of the maul. Does he even look to see where opportunities are?

Liam Wright has been great in the lineout, especially on defense.

Overall a fair first half, though i feel we need to play a little tighter (which is exactly what Laurie is saying right now). We looks great when we did in the first half

Nah I’d say this is a simplistic take on the issue, it’s rare for test teams to play dedicated crash ball players anymore. Those are a bygone era and in the Tier 1 teams is rare to play a big bodied player who doesn’t also contribute in playmaking or kicking.
