To many excuses, wallabies were was rubbish. Samoa took full advantage, genia, beal sparked a bit of fire when they came on. Next week genia, cooper, beale, oconner the game will open up out wide. New forward pack and cleaning out the ball to give genia and cooper quick ball. Was frustrating to watch after watching the REDS game this year,

Agin Elsom not a captain, not even a vice captain.. Sharpe (C) Horwill (VC)

At least we can use the excuse "It was our B team", had Cooper, Pocock and a few others been playing there would have been no excuses. Kiwi's and Bokkies won't look too much into this loss, it was more of a trial run for us and made Deans look like a complete idiot for underestimating Samoa and promoting players who are really not up to international standard.

Samoa played so good, have to give it to them, well done, lookforward to seeing them perform at the WC

For Australia, Timani was horrible, as was the rest of the pack.
Only real positives was McCabe's performance, Digby's involvement was good and Beale + Higgers played well off the bench

Kepu-never again
Moore-too slow, plays 13 more than 2, time for France move
Alexander-forget the try scoring, just scrum and lift
Timani-not now, not ever
Sharpe-veteran? means old
Elsom-back to grade and get your ball carrying below upright
Hodgson-is better than today
Mcalman- see above
Phipps- who else, not Burgess
Ioane- less dancing more running
McCabe- is a winger Robbie
Ashley-Cooper- not his best, looks slow in open space
Davies- Can't stand up on his own feet
Gerard- good player from the past

Samoa beat Australian south pacific barbarians today (sincere congratulations to Samoa, well done boys). Someone tell the ARU you earn a test jumper and each test is an honour not a trial game. That is what A games are for, no bonus points either Rocky!

I'd have them the other way around, but we know Elsom is there to stay, so we have to just suck it up.

I think something seriously needs to be done about our footwear. We always seem to slip more than others.

Couldn't agree more Q51. Many players seemed to have plastic blades only, ridiculous on a pitch that has taken rain in the last days, and looked loose on TV with many open dirt patches, then more rain forecast for the afternoon. But this is front and centre for the coaches to detect and dictate, not let players call it.

The scrum went OK, hard on Kepu, Moore in particular. Sharpe was fine. You did watch the scrums I take it?

Should I point out it rains a fair bit in Auckland during September?

What a joke, that wasn't rugby, it was "lets pass the ball around aimlessly and give the Samoans some tackling practice". They played much better rugby, pure and simple.

We might be! You can't predict the future - we all know Deans can't.

Stupid post, Reddy!. Given the opportunity to give respect to to one side at least, you choose neither.

For my part, and on behalf of some of my compatriots, congratulatons to Samoa for a great win in a big year. I hope you do well.

I think the criticism of AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is very harsh. With McCabe being totally anonymous at 12, and a pair of average performances from halfbacks behind a shocking pack it's hard to see how much he could really have done... I think with the pack changes and Genia & Cooper in the halves with prob Gits at 12 it should (hopefully) lend itself to a better performance against the B Boks.

Think he'll still be there next week and there would be a lot of other changes I'd make ahead of it.

stunned. Alexander got hammered in the scrum. Back row was impotent. Phipps was ok till that fucking kick. Crab Giteau ignited nothing. And Davies might as well head home now. FFS I hope they select a big angry pack who love inflicting pain.

Let's do some player ratings...

Giteau was pretty horrible
Higginbotham didn't get much of the ball for a while but when he did he made a try
Beale was electric and nearly stole it

That's the last time Phipps puts on a wallabies jearsey
Genia played well and got us going forward

The game wasn't without refereeing controversy, the Samoans gave away 15+ cynical penalties all of which where cardable in my books

Timani was average

Deans is regretting not letting Horwill play
Samoan defense was offside a lot
Aus showed them no respect in the first half
Gerrard was ****
Alexander was ****
Hodgson was... neh
Kepu scrummed well
Moore was good
Sharpe good
Vickermann useless
Robinson way too many errors in such a short time
McCabe useless - tried hard but useless
Ioane was heavily marked
Davies useless
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) useless

Hyperbolic, especially on Gerrard, Vickerman, McCabe and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).

Congratulations Samoa

An inspired performance. You've once again shown that you can punch well above your weight and the other teams in your pool at the World Cup must be sitting up and taking note.

I generally hate any team that beats the Wallabies (eg. Scotland), but in this instance can't find it in me. Props to you for being smarter with the gameplan. Essentially followed the 'English blueprint' to a tee. i.e. Bring a massive team, outmuscle the Wallabies forwards, and have a greater desire to win. This gameplan is without doubt the Wallabies achilles heel.

Glad I won't have to listen to all the Timani nutswingers, here and in the general media, for a while.

Probably the only highlight.

Lowlights to plentiful to list. Good to see Elsoms captaincy style hasn't changed. Did the media not watch S15. Ride the Reds success? By picking a team full of Brumbies, Force and Rebels players? Really?

Well done to Samoa though. By far the better team and shouldn't be downplayed because we ran a terrible side out who played poorly. It's a test, you turn up to win no matter who you are.

Well done to Samoa!

Shown no respect by a Wallabies team that turned up expecting to win and made them pay. Well played.
