3 & 4 choice THs and hookers ................................ I expect it will be a competition between the two starting THs to see who can get his arse pointed more towards the side line and Nonggorr? Well we will see

And our best player is out

Less concerned about the change at 9, they are both about the same standard but I thought Gordon was very solid last week and his reward is being dropped?

We still have the issue of two dwarves in kick receipt and little success in getting around the rush defence to unleash our strike players

We played away from the lineout last week in the first half with Skelton starting, with front and back options, but with Hooper starting I guess we will be using more conventional options

I can't see us staying in the match

- our scrum being blattered
- providing enough go forward to break down the rush
- not watching Lynagh being battered and finding himself being run over
- not being sucked in defence only to watch our compressed, passive defence being run around

And I hope I am wrong

People act like he’s going through a labuschagne level form slump while Tizzano is playing like Bradman.
End of the day McReight is the incumbent, only injury would open the door for Tizzano to start.
"... s the incumbent, only injury would open the door for (whoever) to start."
really? that sounds silly

With Tupou at THP and Skelton in behind him, Lions are gonna have to do some pretty illegal shit to outscrum us in the first half. Perception of our scrum should be positive.
Nonggorr will have BPA (who he's scrummed with before I think) to help him, he's a THP unlike Robertson, so he surely can't go any worse. He's scrummaged against the Safas.
Hopefully we get 55-60mins out of TT to help him out.

The challenge with Tupou is his fitness, he has immense ability, but he can either manage his workload or get tired start and start taking the short cuts that lead to penalties

At test level, these days, there are less places to hide

Understand that. His weight is always the issue. Hopefully he hasn't gone to town over the last couple of weeks. But surely the coaches have had a close eye on him. Just need one 50min shift out of him.

I reckon this is where JAS’ ended up

Guys - I can't shake the feeling that we should be witness to one of the all-time great rugby matches tomorrow night with everything on the line and some real positive action being taken by the Wallabies to improve our game in Australia.

But that isn't the case.

I'm of course going to watch the game - but there is also part of me that doesn't want to.

Yeah it sucks

Schmidt has fucked up the preparation and selection for this series

Are we going back to "it's all the coaches fault" now?
It's more our preparation with only 1 Test v Fiji coming into it. Surely we could have thrown an Australia A v Wallaby game in which I would have thought would have been popular with spectators too, pre the Fiji Test? Or at least an Australia A v what is basically a Lions A, being the second best 23 of each team? I also would question why Sua'ali'i's was allowed to play 15 at the Tahs and not stay at 13 to improve his positional play for a big Test series. Was that his best position ? Ikitau at 12 too out of position. Not starting Tate in at least one game. Playing a novice 10, which has been telling, hasn't helped. With White starting tomorrow surely Donaldson deserves a start with White, as he at least puts the defence into two minds unlike young Tom. Injuries are always going to happen but we don't have the depth the Lions have to pick from. The big wet tomorrow will see a kick fest I suspect but I always live in hope, so go the mighty Wallabies!

Understandable but ultimately it is a game. We may not win it but we have acquitted ourselves better than most expected us to. If we lose, we lose. If we win then great.
It is a very good well drilled side. I reckon the ABs and Boks would also struggle with them a little, but probably take the series in the end.
