I always feel sorry for hooker at lineout time, they need to get the ball within a few hundred millimetres over 10 or so metres while halfbacks don't need to trow the ball into the scrum straight and could hit the L
locks knee with no issue.

I think Lonegan has struggled a little with the step up to tests, but he has a lot of growth in his game, and I'm sure he'll be fine.

JB, Uelese is young. Kaitu'u is marginally older than FF (Folau Fainga'a) and 1 - 3 years older than the likes of McInerney, BPA, Mafi (I think), and Lonergan, who is the youngest of the lot.

My statement about Katiu’u was simply my opinion about his place in the hooker hierarchy and where I think he should be in a few years. If others have similar opinions about the others in contention, that is fine, but that is also their opinion.

I personally don’t feel the ceiling is as high for some of the others in contention, especially within the next 2 years.

Anyway this game thread has been highjacked by hooker chat for too long so I’m happy to leave it here.

That bodes well for the future. Yes, Lonergan is 22, Uelese 24 and a couple of the others not much older. Kaitu’u looks a bit loose in his game, like BPA IMHO. It will be interesting to see how Latu goes. He has the skills that Rennie is looking for along with a very solid set piece.

I don't believe its in the rule book it must be the Hooker, here's an idea, choose the best around the park and scrum and let some-one else throw it in the line-out.

It used to be the blind side winger.

There are some serious finishing legs in that group. I expect the starting pack will try and fatigue Japan with size and then these guys will run over the top. Wallabies by plenty as long as they don't have a festival rugby frame of mind and play with a test mindset.

i can understand why it’s not on FTA. Im as rusted on as they come but I’ll still be flicking between the game and Cox Plate Day. If it was on FTA the ratings would get slammed, plus 9 can use it to get more Stan subs. I’ll critique from the replay tomorrow.
