Gooooooooooo the Wallabies!

I don't say that very often so pardon the entusiasm :)

I think the 2 teams stack up quite evenly.
The big question for me is whether the Wobblie forwards can show enough mongrel in the loose exchanges.
If they can obtain parity at a minimum, I think they're in with a good shout.

Spook has it right. Smith's future with the Wallabies is an occasional start but mostly on the bench as super sub (and I really mean super) for Pocock or Palu, whenever a change is required. An invaluable role for Smith.

George Smith is one of my very favourite players. So talented, so committed. Presents himself superbly. I salute him. Long may he be a Wallaby.

Writing that para I recalled an editorial in an Irish newspaper when the Wallabies first returned to Ireland after winning the RWC in 1991:

"The Wallabies are the most welcome of sporting ambassadors. They are a credit to their country, to themselves and to the code of football they play ..."

I won't fill in the .... It is not a subject which should be mentioned in the context of George Smith who is very charming.
I still think your best opensider is not playing, Phil Waugh.

Never been a big Smith supporter, first his hair and now he simply isnt close to Waugh.

Billy and as I sit here, have a Ierland golf shirt on.

So I take it we're in opposing supporter camps for tomorrow's test?

Not that it happens often.... in fact I really can't recall ever before... but I really want the Aussies to shape on their EOYT.
I think it is all the flack that Deans has been getting. Some of it maybe justified, but most of it pretty OTT imo.

I am divided on this one.

Want the Wallabies to soften the Iere up for us but Ierland plays in green and I sort of like them but then as a SH boy I have to back the Wallabies & All Blacks.

Its friday the 13th and we have to write jeans and white shirts to work and I thought wearing my favourate Irish one is fit for the day. ;)

Come on PB and come off it :angryfire: You have declared your true opinion on the tipping thread. Get off the fence or I will push you straight down on to it, one leg each side.

Hey Oirish - WTF is the deal with this Sunday game crap? Monday early AM is not good for my working life let me tell you, especially as I have to start around 4AM that day anyway.

Want the Wallabies to win but I have a bad feeling. The Oirish are going to be worked up into a frenzy.

It's fecking annoying on this side of the world as well. Hard to get very drunk and front up to work the next day :angryfire:

There's a soccer world cup qualifier on Sat night which could explain it.

I change what I said earlier, Ireland by 12. Purely because Kaplan is probably feeling hatred towards the wallabies on this beautiful Sunday.

SkyNews (UK) has reported fine and sunny but cool (11,11 and 12 degrees) in Dublin for Friday, Saturday and today.

Our friendly Leaping Leprechaun, however, informs this board that the Wallabies will have to battle an extremely wet track, rain and cold.

:nta:

I watched a little of the Republic of Ireland v France soccer today - played yesterday at Pastor Croke's park. Ground looked in excellent condition.

Very disappointing result. We looked in control for most of the game before a huge let off gave Ireland that last try.

Pocock was outstanding, Horwill upped his game, Palu was huge, Hynes was good, Genia very good again, Rocky good...A real let down though. Our lineout is a joke. Kaplan made some curious decisions.
