Wallabies v France, 7.00am AEDT Sunday Morning

Samu isn't what he used to be, I think Gleeson is ideal for #20 but unfortunately injured, can't understand having a bench spot for Tizzano, when he's a specialist 7 and McReight is one of our best players
The penalty Tizzano gave away was very costly, but then so were several others in the 22. The linout losses in their 22 is unforgivable....

The game changer was Sua'ali'i getting pinged for perfectly legally competing for the ball, how do you win with that handicap?
That's been a penalty for years now. Recently they have been relaxing on it. Jas needs to jump a bit earlier. When you jump into a player (coming in under them and jumping) who is already in the air on the ball it's not going to go your way. I hate it but it's a penalty in most game

Filipo demonstrated the difference between him and JAS with that scrum move and got us into a scoring opportunity.

If we had another match I would be saying get Potter off the wing, move JAS or Max to the win and Flipio goes to 13.
That's a terrible take. Struggling to understand how (other than being a Reds supporter) you think JAS given the same ball doesn't have the same impact.

Can't blame Carlo. Bobby V couldn't catch the ball when he was in for a try. Toupo gave away a couple of important ones in the 10. The line out cost us at least one or two trys. Jas defence on the wing at one stage was pathetic. Almost everyone added to us not winning that game. And it was a game that if our lineout was good and we didn't give away shit penalties we win easily

Whats with everyone wanted Jas on the wing ? We have daugunu, jorganson, peitch, potter, tool, plus more good wingers at home. Why do we think Jas is better than these guys ? I'm leaning towards Jas not being in the 23 unless he has a rioper super season.
To clarify I don't think Jas is necessarily worse than Toole and potter but he just isn't going to make a difference compared in that position

Not sure JAS is quick enough to play on the wing? Would be handy for the cross kicks though. Has he done enough to be an automatic selection every week?

The only advantage is high ball but we haven't even seen him winning highballs this year. He hasn't been given much opportunity though. I agree. I don't think he has the pace or more importantly the speed of footwork.

I thought Tane was magificent today. The frustrating thing is the forwards showed up today and allowed us to play more. Again, we were in it after 65, but the penalties showed they got ontop. Just wish that the effort showed there was present in the other games up front.

Jake and len played very well. Jorgo did some good things, Pietch is needed for his physical presence. Take was great.

From that France deserved the result.
"I thought Tane was magificent today".... steady.. went ok... wouldn't say magnificent! Missed a sitter early that luckily didn't come back to bite us. Kicked one from the sideline though which was good. He didn't run once to test the defence. Just looks ho hum to me. Lucky to get a Wallaby gig this tour I thought.

The Wallabies have some seriously talented players, but there are too many holes in this roster and they aren't clinical enough.

- You can't expect to do well in test rugby with no good #10 and losing half your own lineouts (I'm not sure the exact number, but it felt like that).
- I can't say I understand not using Samu/LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), particularly as impact subs? Wilson, I love his effort, but that's about where it ends.
- Coaching wise there seems to be an inability to utilize the talent they have at 12/13. I don't blame Ikitau or Sua'ali'i either, it's clear that all they are meant to do is hit it up now and again. I don't know why you wouldn't try to run some plays with a level of deception to get the ball to Sua'ali'i. Or have him compete for high balls more often. He's 6'5 and jumps higher than anyone on the pitch.
Because our 10 is instructed to just shovel. No plays seems to be the gameplan?

Sad that 2025 will be remembered for our losses. We had some wonderful wins. The fact remains that we can put a very good 23 on the pitch, but we have very little depth in some (most?) positions.

Yep, in fairness we only got to play our best XV for the first bit of the 2nd lions test

Entertaining game. 81 pts.

Faesslers lineout rogery was not flash.

Sualii getting the hook at 56th min was a curious one. FFS just move him to the wing or something. Him and Jorgensen are the difference makers

France and their C-team disdainery can absolutely suck it. World Cups: 0
