Well, I'm not happy with the result, but I actually enjoyed that game a lot more than some of our other recent games. It's all in our control. Any coach is going to being loosing hair with how many 22 entry opportunities we blew and with how many times we stacked one mistake with another, often burning all the pressure and field position we'd been building.

Edmed isn't the player we need him to be. Will he get there before the RWC, I have my doubts. I suspect if we'd had Loslesio around this year things might have been looking better. I thought Gordon had a really good game and I thought Kalani Thomas brought some of that Tate-esk energy, so that element was positive. We actually looked to have some attack and innovation in this game which was refreshing.

Schmidt. Don't see the point him staying for last 3 Tests in July. Kiss should take over now.
Too late for that - let Les concentrate on the Reds and succession planning being right. RA needs to start putting the AC who will be around Les in place and ensuring we never play with a static defensive line again.

Where's the beef

I thought Tane was magificent today. The frustrating thing is the forwards showed up today and allowed us to play more. Again, we were in it after 65, but the penalties showed they got ontop. Just wish that the effort showed there was present in the other games up front.

Jake and len played very well. Jorgo did some good things, Pietch is needed for his physical presence. Take was great.

From that France deserved the result.

At least our D line only bent not broke…
I actually thought we had a bit more pace in our D this game. The French often loss gainline. Some of the defensive issues were also when we had a yellow card. Some of their x factor players showed us up at points, but that wasn’t the system, but individuals.

Another thrashing
It wasn’t really, that Sua'ali'i penalty was ridiculous and at least a 14 point turnaround. It took away all our momentum. We had a shit back half of the year but we’re not a bad team. Certainly better than our results say.

Over and out, see you in February.

Wilson again ineffective taking on the line
The repetition of this is ad nauseam is somewhat laughable at this point.

On reflection, Its been a season of two halves. We all started to see the fight, the 'no you won't' the forwards starting to look like a pack not to be respected, but starting to be feared. The second half, we fell back to our old standards, our old effort. Very Frustrating, and while I loved the effort we played with tonight and it showed, I just wish it was there for the previous games on the tour, because it was not.

They know the standard they can and have to play at to be competitive, they now know what happens when you are not there. The margins are small.

Will see what next year brings.

Beef Out.

Schmidt suggesting in the post-match that the difference this week was quick service at the ruck, and I agree. Gordon was quicker and more decisive, which is when we have looked best all year (irrespective of the 9 on the field at the time). Frustrating that it took until the final game for Joe and/or Gordon to action this...
