Really looking forward to these test matches, be the perfect set up to win back the beldisloe cup.

The right coach is there to bring this team together is such a short time. The players have been playing attacking rugby just what link likes

Wallabies by 30.

Damn it feels good being excited about the wallabies again.

Amen.

With the limited preparation i don't think there will be too many surprises with the team selections. Pretty much whatever it was in autumn tests last year and a replacement for Cooper of which i prefer foley.

Agree there. I think the team will look very similar to the one that played Wales last year, at least the starting line up. To'omua will come back in of course and Tomane won't be there, but my sense is that Link will opt for stability in selections for the first couple of tests at least. If we're 2-0 up (here's hoping), he might opt to try some blokes out.

Not if tonight's reports that Genia is out of the 23 hold water.

I agree that Link is likely to pretty much stick with his side from last year's NH tour. Slipper, Moore, Kepu, Simmons & Horwill (the latter not my choice, but I think that's what it will be), Hooper, Fardy, Palu, Genia, Foley, To'omua, Kuridrani (I would have AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) there but don't think Link will) AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Badger & Folau.
Bench is more open, Sio, TPN & Ryan as front row reserves, but don't know where he'll go with lock & back row. My bet is Jones & Higgers. For mine, Carter would start at lock, and I'd have Skelton & McCalman on the bench. White, Beale & McCabe likely back reserves. I would have AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13 and Horne on the wing, but with those same reserves.

Pek might surprise a few as back up LHP - can Sio or Cowan play THP after Kepu??

After the way Ryan worked in the Chiefs game, I expect him to be on the bench on Saturday. He was strong at scrum and dynamic around the field.

Sio, Slipper & Cowan will fill the 2 LHP selections

It strikes me as a little odd that our captain has been overlooked for captaincy a number of times at both S15 and Test level. One of our VC's despite having played 80+ Tests has never really even been talked about as captain material and our other VC has barely even captained at S15 level.

I am OK with the selections (because I'm not sure who else I would pick) but I was just wondering what others thoughts were with regard to Moore and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) not being given similar roles in the past and why they think this might be?

I could not agree more Scoey. It just sticks in my mind that after 10+ professional seasons this is their first appointment, and the only time they have been mentioned previously is due to their experience.

Also despite the fact that last year's captain was unlikely to start in 2014, they were still overlooked.

You're not the only one Scoey, we've just got to keep the faith that they'll all emerge as leaders. Your observations are accurate although Hooper carries all the attributes you'd look for except test match experience and that is coming quickly.

It remains to be seen how Moore will go. I think his serious mentality and work ethic will be good for the Wallabies and reinforces what Link was trying to achieve last year. He certainly fits very well with what we need from the Wallaby captain off the field.

I definitely think it was time to move on to new leadership.

Moore's form has been consistently good and I support his appointment heading towards the 2015 RWC.

The key as always will be how Moore handles the referee on the field. This is the great uncertainty, particularly given his lack of captaincy experience as discussed in the posts above.

It's not rocket science.

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is easily the most experienced back and an absolute certainly to start when healthy, which are almost certainly the main reasons he's been chosen as a VC.

Maybe, when you look at the off-field shit, and disharmony in the squad over the past few seasons, the problem has been NOT picking guys like this?

Having a front rower captain might be quite helpful when it comes to the scrums, ability to interpret refereeing decisions etc.
