I think Horwill has to keep his place in the starting side and Simmons should return for Carter.

I wonder how close TPN is? It will be six weeks since he injured his ankle when this match is on.

Just on Phipps

He looked completely spent at 60 mins against SA (after a pretty good 3/4 game) and in a perfect world would have been subbed. In the game against Argentina he just didn't have the frenetic energy and pace to the breakdown or tackle he has shown all year, and of course there was a dearth of runners re-aligning for him for the same reasons.

The unusually lenient treatment of the Argies lying all over the wrong side of the ruck made his job tough as well.

The speed of service that we have been oohing and aahing about is hard to maintain at test level but he will be better for a 2 week break, and so will Foley as a result.

Of course, the ABs are not going to just wait on their heels but at least he should be fresh for the black tide.

TPN was still in a moon boot a few Sundays ago at the Rays/Rams game. I'd suggest they wouldn't rush him back considering the proximity of the EOYT and the form of Fainga'a.

I'd start Horwill and Simmons in the row, and Palu at 8 if fit. I think a win here is crucial and we should be pulling out all stops and not risking players who are not quite there yet (eg Cooper, Speight, Genia).

Cooper showed some promise on the weekend but it would be better for him and for the wallabies if he could build to a test late next month rather than coming back yet again too early.

I do think that he has a lot to offer in terms of game management though. Foley is just a little further back on the learning curve as a 10 in my eyes, for all of his quality and ability to avoid WTF moments, in terms of dictating the pace and shape of the game.

Fuck me. I really wanted to see AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) play his 100th test. Ruled out injured. I can't wait to see him achieve it.

Is there an injury list from the game somewhere? Or was it just AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)?

I haven't been able to find it anywhere which isn't to say I don't believe it, I just wanted to read the story..

The odds of speight being on the bench will shorten you would think..

1st time in awhile I was happy to pay overpriced rugby tickets when I got my Suncorp Season Pass.

How things quickly went to shit..
A struggling Wallabies, a captain that can't keep his team inspired. Only if he could captain as well has he plays.
All Blacks coming off a loss and playing in Brisbane... So its like a home game for them as well.
Hopefully the QLD fans can see Genia and cooper get are run and bring some type positive play, With Cooper putting Izzy into gaps and nice flat passes for Kuriidrani to bust through the AB's line. And Horwill bumped to Captain.

Back To reality... If true, ( when is green and gold ever wrong)bugger about ACC if ruled out, one of my Favourite players. Big loss for team, he really puts a positive attitude on the field and keeps the boys chins up..

Cant see a win, but I hope its not a Flogging. If there could be one positive from the game less Stupid penalties.

You could well be right Slim but I did read that both he and QC (Quade Cooper) are joining the train-on squad this week..which doesn't mean he is right to play of course..

Personally I wouldn't risk him as a debutante returning from injury in a big game like this, even off the bench..

When have you ever been close to reality, biggsy?? ;)

Why is uninspired players the fault of the captain but not the coach??

Not saying Hooper is a great captain, but the lack of effort and enthusiasm in Mendoza rests with all 23 players, and the staff beyond that.

I think we need far more quality on the bench than we had in Argentina. Genia and Gill would be a good start.

Will Beale play in place of To'omua?

I agree. Why would it be whilst Phipps is in good form and Genia has had virtually no rugby though?

You could certainly push Genia onto the bench ahead of White without too much issue. White looks so slow with his service and his game overall isn't really suited to a bench role.
White looked anything but slow on the weekend after receiving little game time since eden park where it was obviously the halfbacks fault we spent the game on the back foot. Till then he had performed very well in the French tests and the previous two Super seasons. His pass is superior to Phipps and he has a kicking game which makes exiting your 22 an easier task. Is Genia a better running option I could not say as it's been a while but noticed from the weekend stats Phipps was not credited with a single run, maybe it's time for a change

Seriously, in 2014 what have those 2 names got to do with quality?
