I'm also on the Samo bandwagon. His skill set is an ideal 8. Can hit the ball up, heavy enough to anchor the scrum well, a genuine running game and tall enough to be a genuine option at lineout time. There is no other 8 in Aus who can do all that.

Mowen, does all that. Dennis has shown he can.

There are always options. Radike has hit a purple pacth of form but he needs to stay on top of it to get anywhere near consideration. He has a history of fading out of games and I have to say that this year is the first I have seen where he has overcome this problem.

I find it a bit wrong you are comparing him to Mowen.
Radike deserves to make the squad and probably the 22

If goes for a 5-2 split, my bet is that Hodgson won't make the 22. He's ideal if he has to cover the whole backrow, but I'm guessing the two loose forwards will be Higginbotham and whichever one of Palu and Samo doesn't start.

That leaves no cover for 7.
Samo could cover 4,5,6 and 8 or just 6 and 8.
Hodgo covers 6,7 and 8.
I doubt Higgo will be on the bench. He will start in place of Elsom when needed or not be in the 22.

I thought he had a very good 2nd half, bit quiet in the first half but when Robinson went off his impact was noticed. Made a try saver at one point and supported the breaks well.

So is suggesting Higgers for 6.

I wonder if anyone actually saw him pay today. He's a passenger in defence around the rucks.
I suggested no such thing. But you carting out the variations of the same line over and over again convinces no one of anything except your pigheadedness and inability to move on. Get over it.

By the way I watched the game twice. His play was fine. And if there was a problem with how tight or loose he was playing his coach would have pulled him long before now.

I think he's fine for Super rugby but we're talking about the Test team. Likewise people suggesting Davies for the Wallabies after a hat-trick. He wouldn't get a quarter of the space in a Test match he got against the Blues.

In regards to Hodgson, he would definitely be on the bench...

Aside from being the next best 7 behind Pocock, he can play 6 or 8 quite well...

And I don't see any reason why he'd be excluded if Deans were to opt for a 5-2 split, which I doubt considering the risk of backline injuries and the fact that we have the players to continue with the traditional 4-3 split...

Higginbotham will be watching from the stands, and a player like Dennis will join him there unless Elsom is injured...

When they are doing the end of season Scarf awards I hope there's a "Sour Grapes"category. Couple of leading contenders in recent posts on this thread.

Dare I say it - Brown may be a better bench option than Hodgo. I reckon at test level he'd be a batter 6 and 8 than Hodgo because of his build. Hodgo is definitely a better 7 but it's a role Brown could cover.

Anyone else reckon Rod Davies played himself into the wallabies squad last night? Best game I've seen him play.
If Mitchell can't recover we need a out-and-out speed merchant and finisher in the squad

Pretty good for a team to make a Super Rugby GF by playing a wing at 6 LOL

Rodney deserves to be in the squad, he won't make the 22 but he has shown better form then other Aussie wingers who are still been touted
