I gotta say, Paty305, the backrow of Robinson, Pocock and Higgers at 6,7,8 is odd. Far more likely to see Higgers at 6 and McCalman (the incumbent Wallaby 8 and in good form to boot) at 8, rather than Robinson out of position at 6. I would have thought.
As for Daley at 1 and Benn Robinson at 3...???

Here's what I think the team will be:
  1. Ben Daley
  2. Stephen Moore
  3. Benn Robinson
  4. James Horwill
  5. Nathan Sharpe
  6. Beau Robinson
  7. David Pocock
  8. Scott Higanbotham
  9. Will Genia
  10. Quade Cooper
  11. Digby Ioane
  12. James O'Connor
  13. Anthony Fainga'a
  14. Drew Mitchell (If Fit) or Lachie Turner
  15. Kurtley Beale
  16. R - James Slipper/Ben Alexander
  17. R - Saia Fainga'a
  18. R - Rob Simmons
  19. R - Matt Hodgson
  20. R - Luke Burgess/Nick Phipps
  21. R - Matt Giteau
  22. R - Rod Davies/Lachie Turner/Adam Ashley-Cooper

I know I didn't include Rocky Elsom so don't tell me I forgot him. Also the captian would be James Horwill. Vice Captain Will Genia. Kicker James O'Connor.

Surely you're trolling. Dropping the incumbent captain despite Deans' comments that have confirmed his place in the line-up, dropping the most consistent performing back out of the 22 (AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)), getting rid of the most dominant tackler and committed forward (TPN). Not to mention playing an untried #7 at blindside, and a blindside at #8? Leaving out Palu or even McCalman? Including both Fainga'a bothers, including Anthony in the starting XV? Moving the best scrummaging prop in Australia, if not the world, to THP and then including one of the worst scrummaging props in the country to his spot, whilst leaving Kepu out? Please tell me you're trying to ignite debate.

I see that Kepu is training now and is expected to play 40 minutes for Randwick against Eastwood on Saturday. If he passes that test he could be on the Wallaby bench against Samoa.

Before he was injured I thought he had overtaken Slipper as a THP scrummager and was the best in the country. Alexander, who switched back to THP only in Rd. 14, could find himself starting against Samoa with the 3 jersey because Slipper is also injured now and would have had the week off anyway, had he not been.

Of the others: Baxter is just on standby, Holmes has started in just 2 Super games (in effect) at THP, and all other Oz THPs are either injured or not up to it, or both.

I would prefer Baxter for a one-off test but that match will not be all be about a win against Samoa - but about the RWC also. If Kepu and Slipper are healthy Baxter won't be at the RWC but Alexander may be, to back up Fat Cat.

It underlines how important the prop triumvirate of Robinson, Kepu and Slipper is to Oz's RWC campaign.

It's good to have a second one ready to go, or near enough.

Although I don't trust Deans to see it the same way these 3 are definitely the trio that will rotate through the front row, with Alexander as the 4th man to come in to cover injuries, and to play the less important games during the RWC.

I think we've actually got ourselves a good balance as long as these guys all stay fit.

If only Palmer was fit and Deans could hold a 'workrate' camp to run alongside the scrum camp.

I really hope the only reason Alexander would start at THP ahead of Kepu is because he's coming back from injury and not on form.

IMO, if Kepu is match fit, his selection for a run-on position in the 3N will be an absolute acid test of one very important Wallaby coaching parameter for 2011 and the winning of the RWC, namely: will Deans move from pig-headed, reckless stubbornness (fed by the ARU to the fawning Aus rugby media as 'desirable loyalty' which of course is lapped up and repeated as though gospel) of key selections to a system based upon demonstrable recent form of a match-winning kind?

I thought Kepu 2011-version had it all: great in scrums, excellent in breakdown work and support in forwards' pods there, excellent on the loose and open ball, etc, and remarkably agile for a man of his type and size. Simply exceptional, just screaming for a 2011 Wallabies jersey.

If fit, and he's not plcked, much will be become clear (if it wasn't already).

He has been injured for a while. Men built like that don't get fit and agile easily and after a injury they do not gain it back quickly.

The man will need time.

The best way to help him get back to peak fitness is to give him time of the bench for a while. Please Deans, don't follow Hickey's injury management system by throwing him out to the dogs in a Bledisloe with no preparation.

I actually would prefer Adam Wallace Harrison in the Wallabies squad than an overrated 30 year old unfit has been from NSW. No kidding. AWH has been sensational all year.

Well, that's rather lame. Vickerman was one of the two best locks in the world not long ago. He is a rock hard, inspirational leader. And, from your NSW sledge, I see you are trolling. As you were.:)

Even as a NSW fan I would rather anybody who played more than 20 minutes of Pro Rugby in the last 2 years. It is a slap in the face of players who stuck around and played the best seasons of their lives, such as Wykes and Pyle, to be genuine contenders to have a bloke who played abysmally in his last RWC game to walk in and take a spot in the test side without having played.

For some reason I had an inkling tonight that Ben Tapuai might make the 40-man squad. Not sure why, but if he is announced tomorrow then I am a psychic
