Yes, but that's all players, from schoolboys to Wallabies. "Player power " set-ups like the former Brumbies, or the more recent Aust cricket team for that matter, are great for keeping the current stars happy and terrible for succession.
I don't agree with all of Robbie's selections, or use of substitutes, but overall, I'll take the medicine he's giving.
Ive said it before, and I'll say it again. there were some great players in the wallabies, who thought they could stay forever, regardless of form and results. the player power group of mortlock, smith, giteau et al just lost the arm wrestle with robbie. he is the sort of guy who looks at the big, longer picture, younger guys are rewarded for effort and form is a requirement. the lads have been great players in their time, but there are now clearly more options available. I use again Berrick as an example.... did he spit the dummy about being dropped? no. he just dug deep, trained harder, got his chance, and took it with both hands to form an awesome pairing with quade in the last 2 tour games, if i recall correctly. giteau could do the same, but clearly dingo won't be dictated to, and I reckon if he wants a place in the team, HE HAS TO EARN IT ALL OVER AGAIN. The current batch that are brewing may be youngish, but boy, are they HUNGRY! there's a bit of experience too, with statesmen like sharpey lifting HIS game to new standards, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) too. they only got better cos they had to, otherwise it would have been sayonara! that reporter has to be pally with gits I reckon......
