Exactly. I noted in my review that the Lions counter-attack was potent enough.

Until North came onto the field, their counter attack didn't look as crash hot as it's being made out to be. What made it "potent" was the first up tackles in the defensive line not being made. Farrell also doesn't seem to have the vision that Sexton does and it wasn't until the 50-60th minute when he came on that the Lions started playing deep territory rugby.

Last night really showed that the Lions lacked anything in the centres department without BOD. It reminded me of 2011 when Deans played McCabe/A Finger in there. Just crash balling with nothing happening.

Last night the Reds played a little too much ball in hand. There were times they should have booted it downfield and times they should have backed themselves. I felt they became somewhat predictable and added extra pressure on themselves instead of making the lions back think and adjust their backline.

Iain Payten is reporting that KB (Kurtley Beale) is one of the 6 and QC (Quade Cooper) isn't. Not surprising.

Kurtley Beale is one of the Wallabies six squad additions. Quade Cooper is not. Full squad named tomorrow.

He also had: "A prisoner of his own outrageous talent in a world where consistency trumps left-field genius."

Thought that was a nice one

"For now, Gatland will simply be relieved to have a proper videotape to review. He and his staff will watch it and be glad that the Australian coach, Robbie Deans, continues to have a downer about Cooper.
True, he is hard to fit into a rigid structure, but those 20-yard passes and blessed vision make him a nightmare to defend against. The Australians will need to gamble if they are to have a chance of denying this supremely powerful Lions outfit. Deans should have learned that in Brisbane."

Should but I doubt if he did.

Agreed. Without BOD, Sexton and North they are pretty pedestrian. If I was a Lions supporter I would be hoping that Bowe is replaced by somebody to cover Sexton. For me Farrell just doesn't cut it, and perhaps Zebo instead of replacing Healy with another Prop, those they have will be able to contain if not better the Wallaby props, especially if Alexander starts at THP.

We can possibly rule out MMM after he just limped off the field...

?? MMM looks fine to me. He's playing pretty well though. looks to have a bit of rust, Playing wide of the ruck but is carrying well and is getting into position in defence well. As long as he pulls through uninjured he is surely a shoe-in

Pommy Journos...please. I hate this notion being past around that the only chance of the wallabies winning is by some moment of pure individual brilliance. Someone forgot to remind the Poms how fckn hard it is to beat the Wallabies at Suncorp. Just ask the All Blacks. We will beat the Lions by playing better as a team than they do. We'll be better at the breakdown, better in the collision, better in the set piece, better in the backline and more accurate defence.

As I've already pointed out. Will Genia is going to create more of a headache for the Lions than Quade Cooper would

I must've missed something because MMM is back on, but obviously still carrying an injury...

Tommy Bowe was going OK prior to that, too. Their centres might have been quieter, although I thought Davies pretty good, but the back 3 did pretty well.
Anyway, my point is they have players at 11, 14 and 15 who can be very dangerous, so loosely giving them space will be a risky prospect, I think.

According to Payten & Tucker the following six have entered (or reentered) camp. So until made official this I guess is the six:
1. Beale
2. Burgess
3. McCabe
4. Sio
5. Kimlin
6. Ioane

I'm still outraged that Beale is even considered, but anyway. Who wants to bet against Pat McCabe starting the first test at 12?

White being injured is a bit of a blessing for Deans, will take the heat off the absolute BS that is Burgess being selected. I'd still be picking Sturzacker (spelling?) or McKibbon or either of the Lucas' or Frizby or Kingi or Sheehan instead.

No third hooker surprises me. Specialist position, surely they will bring Hanson into camp at some point?

It is interesting to see what the opposition genuinely thinks of the opposition's choices and options. Arrogance lies in the other direction.

As for better backline, well the players may be better in natural talent but better in execution, well that will depend on what they are given to execute now doesn't it. Much the same for the forwards.
