I feel this would be a golden combination. Besides the kicking, Lonergan really gets the pill off the ground quick. Together with the running of Gordon that could be pretty sweet.I wonder if Carter starts Lonergan does too to goal kick? France's Ramos is deadly. We need a decent kicker.
Lots of player head to France and go the other way. Having a French Bakery on every corner can be a bit hard on the scales. If TT can get fit, and he will playing week in and out in France, then he may be his best self at the RWC.
With this RA remains in the situation.
Let them walk with the thought “well we can pick them from overseas” and RA is an outsider now wanting help.
Pro sports are player led now. Organisations that adapt will benefit.
I think the ship has sailed on getting A sides into the PNC (Pacific Nations Cup). Fiji and Japan are with the Wallabies as Tier 2 sides, and it's a consistent 6 team comp now.Pacific Nations Cup should be a consistent.
You can get 4-5 games to rotate a squad enough to give caps to good prospects and also let fringe guys prove their point for Wallaby squads.
Agree with you about the status but I'd have no problem with it being a dog fight every comp. Our players need to be belted around the head and taught some lessons. If you could get it going and include the likes of US, Canada, NZ Moari it would be a great comp.I think the ship has sailed on getting A sides into the PNC (Pacific Nations Cup) (Pacific Nations Cup). Maybe there are some opportunities for more games in the pacific but it would have to be around the PNC (Pacific Nations Cup) (Pacific Nations Cup) I feel, rather than in it.
I'm more talking about how having Fiji and Japan legitimizes the competition as a fully fledged test comp, akin to TRC and 6Ns, albeit on a lower scale, and therefore it wouldn't have the same legitimacy if some of the games aren't test matches. I doubt that is in line with the strategy WR (World Rugby) has with the comp, and so I don't see it as a viable pathway.Agree with you about the status but I'd have no problem with it being a dog fight every comp. I seem to recall Bob Dwyer with some other backers (...or maybe it wasn't Dwyer...) wanting to buy a French club a while back for something like this.I would start treating overseas as our 5th super team.
That is stupid, they aren't the same. The big problem - under the CBA, Australia A player payments and tour allowances are the same as the full Australia test squad - so it costst a fair bit to put the Australia A team out there.
And basically no revenue tied to it
Not sure if Edmed was carving them up in Super Rugby!! Played well in this much talked about NPC last year but that is a lower level than Super rugby. I didn't demand he get a few caps. He should not be in the Wallabies.Yeah but then the cycle repeats itself.
We see someone carve up in a level below Test rugby, we demand they get a few caps and before long we're shit canning them on forums and demanding the next gen after them are given a run.
He was listed as unavailable for this tour and has since joined up with Montpellier but not played yet. I think they were hoping he'd be available for their upcoming game against Perpignan. It's up to them to give (or not give) injury updates now. What’s the update on Gleeson, been out since Joburg but no communication from the team
