Wallabies 2025

There's maybe some excuse for Robertson, given the Force's injuries at prop, but it's wild that Bell hasn't had a rest given the tahs have a current wallaby prop in Kailea and a fairly well rated Aus A player in Lambert behind him.

They must be in serious danger of loosing Lambert at this stage too, with Bell and Kailea signed through 27 and very little game time available he'd have to be interested in jumping to the Brumbies as Slipper wears out, or going over seas to cash in while he can.

Don't think Lambert is high on the list atm. Played SS last week and listed for Uni again this week like Edmed at Eastwood.

Especially so for Bell, who hasn't played a full season over the past 3 years due to a recurring foot injury that wasn't a simple and straightforward injury.. I'd say there's a need to manage his workload more carefully
I am guessing the spin would have been that he will be rested v the Drua next week and then also gets the next week off with the bye. For the other Tahs Wallabies as well. It does actually make sense, parochial biases aside.

‘People’ being people on here? It probably made sense in some respects from the outside, but from the inside they were probably looking at the scrum strength and wanted/needed to get a win on the road.

Anyway, it’s just a theory I have, will see if I’m right. There is some flexibility with the rest protocols and I don’t have any issues with other franchises using them strategically as well. Also, from a fan/viewer perspective, it’s a better look to rest players against the team coming last on the ladder than appearing to throw a game against the comp leaders.

At present I‘d like to see a Wallaby backline of:

9 White
10 Donaldson
11 Daugunu
12 Ikitau
13 Sua'ali'i
14 Potter
15 Wright

21 McDermott
22 JOC (James O'Connor)
23 Pietsch

Lynagh still a year away in my book.

I think Lynagh is class so I’d have him over JOC (James O'Connor). I put last nights misfired passes down to the stinger he suffered in the first half (seemed to give him a weak hand on those lovely flat passes he usually throws). He also wasn’t getting the best service from Tate

I dont see any value in white. Has lost any speed and is very slow at breakdown clearance. Look at how well the Force go when the reserve half comes on each week, the speed of play doubles.
Daungunu is killing it at OC and i reckon is a great bench option as he covers a few spots. Not really fast enough for the wing anymore. Jorgo was on a roll before he got injured has speed to burn. The entire shape of the backline depends on whether Schmidt wants JAS at fullback or OC, it will significantly change their attack.

Salakaia-Loto's maul work remains questionable and might prevent him from getting the start first up. I'm also pretty doubtful will see Sua'ali'i at 13 for the start of the series, wing is looking more and more likely.
Maybe, would you swap him with Daungunu
