Wallabies 2025

JRugby2

Harry Wilson was also snubbed by Eddie Jones but had no hesitation in resigning with RA without knowing who the next Wallabies coach will be. As did quite a few of our current Wallabies. No one begrudges Noah moving to Japan on a lucrative deal but to use the excuse that he didn’t resign with RA because he didn’t know who will replace Schmidt is a cop out.
Maybe its not a cop out and just his own personal reasoning.

The determined dismissive attitude ((somewhat understated on my part I feel) to a Wallaby who has given his best service smacks of discourtesy to me.

Noah, I hope it isn't true, but if this is leading to us not seeing you back in Australia I have one thing to say: thanks for everything and all the best going forward.

Noah has taken the cash and good luck to him. He is not guaranteed to be a starter in the 23 against the Lions because Lynagh and Donaldson are just as good. As a Wallaby though, you only get so many chances to pull that jersey on and if the desire is not there to back yourself and your skills to get in the team, well, the decision to play your game in a lesser environment for a lot more money is definitely something to think about. My thoughts are though that he has possibly jeopardised his chances for a once in a lifetime Lions series and possibly being apart of a home World Cup. Going overseas post these events will always net you big bucks…. but these Test opportunities are creating memories you will take to your grave and definitely something money can’t buy.

Calling it a 'cop out' implies he ought to stay (i.e. that he really should stay but he 'copped out' of his responsibility). He ought to leave, though. He has no guaranteed starting position, probably isn't good enough to demand one and can earn more elsewhere.

Most players offered international contracts ought to leave actually - I feel this reality is not faced by Australian rugby sufficiently.

Aside from the Wallaby captain, JAS also signed without knowing who the next coach was...

Pfft no. Im going to assume you are around boomer age and you arent getting fucked in the arse by the ever worsening cost of living crisis.

Being able to secure your grandkids future is worth more than a fucking sporting jersey.
No, Millennial with a young family. And I feel that's a quite jaded view on the world

And none of these contracts are securing any grandkids futures. This isn't the NBA

copied from Tahs v Chiefs matchday thread:

If Bell gets injured and missed the B&I Lions due to playing too many minutes because the Waratahs are an incompetent fucken organisation in bringing through and managing talent, I'll be dirty..
Out of the 'wallaby cohort of props', 3 props are yet to miss a game in 2025, Tupou, Bell and Roberston..

let's be honest, how many of thor's minutes have actually involved strenuous physical activity?

I agree Bell needs to sit a week. His minutes are busy as well. TT might have 337 but 200 of them are floating around.

I also look at Nongorr and sure his body must feel alright but that doesn't seem like heaps of minutes if your'e developing your skills either... Slipper and AAA seem the sweet spot.

De Luttis is fine. I don't think he's a legitimate contender for a spot if everyone's fit. He's a prospect for 2027.

Just as a point of comparison, these are the likely Lions props 2025 minutes. Obviously not apples v apples with a different start date etc
