Wallabies 2024

I thought I remembered one of the commentators saying he got up from a breakdown looking shaky. But could be wrong.
Yep, and there were a couple of occasions in a few minute period where he looked quite ginger - I was specifically watching for it after reading the match thread prior to watching the game. From the very few seconds of broadcast when he was pictured, and given his recent history, my money's on knee injury.

I'm going with deliberate planned tactical substitution. Slipper plays from 40min to 60min. Gives Bell a half hour breather with the break and Bell comes back on to finish the game.

Old man Slips looks like he has put on weight and was completely gassed after the lineout after which Tom Wright eventually snagged the intercept

He's a 35 year old pro-rugby player. He's probably icing something every day!
merely commenting on what was above, someone speculated about his knee.

Sounds like the consequence of not being able to properly train?

The icing isn't much of a worry. They all do it, especially at the end of the season which this is. All banged up to some degree.

What a warrior though. Big part of me thinks he wouldn't want the month off if he knew he could help the side. We might want Kailea but at this point if Schmidt makes a selection call I'm running with it. Kailea has been blooded but looks like a guy very raw to the technical parts of the game. Grand Slam matches when we are 2/0 might not be the place.

Just do this against SA in the World Cup final please :D

Slipper offers nothing and needs to be replaced. He has no impact at all and all it does is force our best prop to have to come back on and put in a bigger shift when he has cooled down. A recipe for potential injury for Bell.

Go look at the latest Wallabies video, they follow Tizzano's calorie intake, it's absolutely cooked. 8000 calories in a single day. Doesn't even look like a high training day, I wanna see Tupou's and Willy's food day.

Side note, I've been loving the Wallabies content of the past couple years. The content dude, Julius, is such a good pick up.

Read that sentence a little differently the first time around...

When the squads were announced, he wasn't eligible for selection due to family reasons - https://wallabies.rugby/news/wallabies-and-australia-xv-squads-confirmed-for-november-tours-20241022

Similar to Hunter, while he may have also copped a knee injury, his wife gave birth to a new child in the last week.
Yeah understand he's not available, but the "family reasons" seems a bit dubious considering he toured Japan with the Reds no problem

He was randomly dropped earlier in the year, and old Doran reported that Schmidt doesn't really like him for some reason

I'm by no means in the know, but whether it be an illness, event, or something else entirely, I don't think that makes it dubious - a couple of weeks away with the Reds is a lot less of an ask (and in much closer proximity) than a possible 6 weeks give or take in Europe with the Wobs/Aus A.

To be fair, he did take over from a pigeon. Was likely to improve.

I assume because Ireland has greater control of their URC teams, that their players will be available despite falling outside the international window for our match up?
