Sometimes wonder if a coach isnt curious - in a bit of a nothing game - to go FULL-ON Franken Jannie de Beers and see what happens. Just set up "floating screens" or something and tell 2 or 3 blokes to absolutely go to town pinging droppie attempts. Fuck the fans reaction, just howitzer those fuckers up into the night sky.

Whats the rule for a missed one, droppie out from under your own posts? Or is it a scrum from the mark of the miss? Fuck knows, either way you'd still keep the pricks absolutely pinned in their own half while you have a great old laugh watching the piggies crane their necks to see yet another attempt launched towards their posts hahaha
I want Rennie to do this to the English... I'd just love it..

Matt Philip has one more offload this season than Wilson, not bad.

Just my opinion but Wilson is currently overrated. Doesn’t bend the line, rarely breaks tackles, etc. he will be a star but isn’t the player people think he currently is and won’t be for a few years. Has potential to be world class but isn’t impactful enough to be currently classified as anything more than a good Super Rugby player

Y'all sleeping on Koroibete. Best wing in the world. I think Tupou has slid down the rankings in the past year. Too injured/liability/forcing it. Probably behind Tadgh Furlong at least. I would have Hooper & Koroibete start. Kerevi, Skelton & Tupou on the bench.

Also on the Kerevi playing comm games exemption thing. Surely it doesn't matter? The coach does want he wants, doesn't need to play tiddlywinks to get players in or not.
I dont get the love for Skelton. He has never been dominant at test level. Hes an excellent provincial player but he is yet to show any level above good in test rugby, and he lacks lineout prowess.

Someone refresh my memory…

Philip didn’t play a single game on the spring tour - did he pick up an injury, or did he fall behind Rodda, Arnold, Swain and Skelton in the pecking order?
I guess they were having a good look at Arnold and Skelton?

Can’t recall Skelton ever having a good test in wallaby colours so I think after checking him out last year Rennie might have put that one to bed…

A second rower in test footy needs to be a step faster than those in provincial and be top level at the core roles. He's neither.
Hes just not cut out for test rugby. Not many are at lock.
Cooper on the other hand is perfect for it as long as he underplays his hand.

I remember that game. It wasn’t much of a spectacle, but funny to watch the English lose to such a negative tactic. Don’t remember DeBeers playing much after that.
It’s funny that these days league seem to play and plan for the drop goal when it’s only a point with the opposition getting possession whereas they don’t in rugby for 3 points and you maintain possession.

He has never been dominant at test level.

This is looking at 2016 and earlier at test level versus the 6 years since where he's been a key part of winning UK Premierships and two European Champions Cups.

I don't think Rennie will be writing him off after a couple of bench appearances on short preparation last year on the End of Year Tour.
