They wouldn't just switch Swinton and McMahon, given Swinton has been used quite a lot at the front of the lineout, and I can't recall that McMahon was used much there. If they did, they'd be more likely to put Wilson at 8 who is more of a lineout operator (I think).
I'd see McMahon and Samu as more comparable types in terms of where they'd fit.

Where are we going to fit McMahon?
Article this afternoon has Rennie quoted as saying McMahon could well be the fittest player in the squad and is in the mix for the first game against the Argies. The fitness team are apparently singing his praises after converting his room to a gym during quarantine and he has hit camp in great shape.

A run at 8 with Swinton at 6 and Hooper or McReight at 7 would be a nice balance.

Based on what Rennie said

“It's a tough role from him because he is playing behind a skipper who is playing fantastic footy," he added.

"Sean gives you genuine cover, we are using Pete Samu at the moment with the genuine cover.

Looks like they see him as that Bench option like Pete - may over take Pete? BUT also Mcmahon might be the guy they choose at 7 if they choose to give Hoops a break for a game.

McMahon has the same problem he always had. He is only 185 cm tall and is you play him and a 7 the same height you stuff your lineout up and you lighten your scrum.
Thats true but it was mostly a problem when they wanted to play him with Hooper and Pocock. McMahon is a legitimate line out target and it can work if your six is a decent target, as Swinton is. I feel he is more suited to a bench role or starting at 7. He will have excellent impact. I’m sure that we will see him next week as Valetini and Swinton have had a heavy load.

We play Scotland & England at 5.30pm GMT on Saturdays, which by my potentially bad logic is Aus EST 4.30am. Just annoying timing, play it at 8pm and I'd actually watch it live at 7am?? Why play a game at 5.30pm on a Saturday? Is it because it'll be balls cold then and no one wants to be outside at night???

Scotland is 2:15pm GMT on a Sunday.

England is 5:15pm GMT on Saturday 13th of November. That day has Scotland vs South Africa at 1pm, Ireland vs New Zealand at 3:15 and then our game.

France is the only tier 1 team that is hosting night time kick-offs (9pm) during that test window. I assume you're right and it is weather related.

An interesting look into past posts and compare against 2021.

Sideline Eye, May 24 2014 - "Saw young Kellaway in the Waratah's player's box, sitting happily at the back in shirt and tie, a few weeks ago. We suspected something was afoot, but thought it could also have been just a nice freebie of some kind. Great to hear this."
Lee Grant replied -
"He was called in when all the Tahs wingers were going down.

He was certainly the best Oz Schools player last year that I saw, and he plays "old".

He has a lot to learn as anybody would at his age but he has the rugby smarts of a mature player and will get to be a pro player before most of his contemporaries because of that.

Being as tough as nails and difficult to get to the ground will do him no harm either.

But the best schools player since Beale?

He may well be."

I’m pretty sure we will see an experimental side rolled out against Argentina for one of the games - by experimental I don’t mean stacked full of fringe players, I mean one to test if it works better than the incumbents. A 2023 trial if you like. Something like this:

1. Bell
2. Kaituu
3. Tupou
4. Rodda
5. Philip
6. Swinton
7. Hooper
8. McMahon
9. McDermott
10. O’Connor
11. Koribete
12. Kerevi
13. Perese
14. Petaia
15. Kellaway
