More interesting question, who had his talent but didn't make it?
Nah he came through in League. I'm thinking teen sensations in rugby.Izzy Folau
Who do you reckon was the last with his talent, out of interest?
Reece Hewat. Aus Schools Captain and Aus under 20s Captain capped by reds as a 20 year old then punted. What a waste of talent
That's why it was a waste. That 20s team that he was captain for had the likes of HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes), Uelese Hockings, Blythe Wright, ASY (Angus Scott-Young) ,Valetini, Swinton, Stewart who have gone on to make Super Rugby or higher careers. Last i heard of Reece he was playing second division in France. Side note that Izzy Perese was also in that team....He was a naughty boy though wasn’t he?

Is this public knowledge or has been swept under?
I don’t know? Jason Little I guess? He’s a different player to Herbert.
Can’t really think of an equivalent.
Jason Little was in my year, I'm sure we've produced a teen sensation more recently than 1987! Besides, Tim Horan was also in that year and you'd have them both in the freakishly talented category.
If we're looking at players who hit the scene in the last 15 years, I'd say both Pocock and Hooper, assuming they don't have to be a back.
Could have been a super hero. Still can but unfortunately not interested in changing. That kid spent a lot of time at my house before the social scene become a priority. Possibly JOC (James O'Connor) in the making.

Pauli Taumoepeau and to a lesser extent afusipa
As long as he stops short of this...
