as much as i hate to say it.. i think our bench works best if QC (Quade Cooper) is dropped altogether for Lilo (as he covers 15 as well)

i jsut cant think of another option without dropping either Lilo, To'omua, or Horne - all of whom have performed really well as of late

I really want to see him (QC (Quade Cooper)) get more game time as well.

If Higgers is fit, he has to start IMO. McMahon shouldn't be thrown to the wolves yet and our lineout needs to be strong. This was a Baa Baas game which suited McMahon. I think he's exceptional but test rugby is different again and he needs to be introduced off the bench at this stage. However, if Higgers is out, I'm not sure we have many other options. Jones hasn't had much rugby.

How can people be serious on Higgers? He does NOTHING on defence. He had one tackle in 20 minutes against the Baabaas. But what about his attack I hear you say- Sean McMahon did more in 60 minutes than Higgers has in the last three games I have seen him play.

I know this might sound like I am a closet Rebels fan but McMahon or Luke Jones needs to start at 6 and the other one needs to be the bench backrower.

Hard choice, Lilo or Cooper. Buggered if I know, Lilo deserves the bench if he doesn't start, and then we all want to see Cooper get some much needed game-time.

How about To'omua start this game. Lilo dropped, but starts the next game. Cooper on the bench both times.

As a Welsh supporter can't help but feel we've dropped a bollock with Adam Jones's ommission. He's still our best tighthead, munched the Munster loosehead for Cardiff Blues yesterday. I'm all for building for the future but have Jones on the bench as back-up to Samson Lee. Our other tighthead selection Aaron Jarvis couldn't scrummage his way out of a wet paper bag !

Higgers showed quality against the ABs. I just don't want McMahon thrown to the wolves and ba baas isn't test rugby. Off the bench would be ideal at this stage.

I'd say that one good game doesn't make up for a handful of average ones. Fair enough on slowly bringing McMahon in. Reckon he'd handle it though.

Planet Rugby are reporting that higgers hammy will keep him out this week, and could even be bad enough to send him back home. I hope for him that's not the case.

I'll completley show my rebels bias here and say that a McMahon / Jones combo covering 6 would be wonderful. Lets give it a go.

Someone tell me a better first year of professional rugby than Sean McMahon?

Credit to Dumper for picking for the Rebels, he could very well have been playing park rugby this year.

i am surprised by the GAGR consensus that Genia was rubbish.
i thought he showed signs of improvement.
he was, to me, obviously trying to play how the coach wants him to play.
i saw few signs of him playing Reds-Ball, or Coach-Ball, or Genia-Ball.
the intent, to my eye, was there and provided a basis for the skills and confidence to follow.

i have no comment about the other bloke.
i gave up on that a long, long time ago.

Most posters on other threads have a hard time deciding between To'omua and Lealiifano at 12. So why would one not start and the other be on the bench? Christian is just as good at 10 as 12 and can cover 15, so I'd have him on the bench and To'omua starting. Will not yet in form to get a start or on the bench, but getting close imo. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) on the other wing and the bench would then be White, Cooper and Lealiifano.

If Higgers is out, I'd really like to see McMahon start at 6 with Hooper and McCalman making up the rest of the backrow. McMahon can play 6 or 7, so I'd have Jones on the bench for extra cover at 8 and to add some mongrel at the end.

Watching the Baa Baa game, when White came on, he seemed very average to me. His passing to Foley was often misdirected, and for whatever reason, he seemed to lack rhythm.

I thought White clearly lifted the pace of the game when he came on compared to Genia but he threw a few very inaccurate passes.

It's a tough choice who is on the bench next Saturday. My guess is White. I think Cheika will value the speed which Genia really didn't bring whatsoever.

The consensus before the game was that Cheika was using this match to decide between Genia and White for the bench spot.

I agree that Will was better than most posters seem to think, but the majority here have rated White's game as superior to Will's, so Nic could well be on the bench if Cheika sees it that way as well. Even a couple of diehard Nic White haters who immediately after the game criticised his kicking once again have had to retract their views after watching the game a second time. It is fact that Nic did not kick once in this game.

I don't really agree that Will was playing to Cheika's instructions either. We probably all agree that neither Will nor Nic have been playing the type of game that Cheika would prefer from his No 9, but it looked to me that Will played his usual style while Nic changed his game quite significantly. I would say that it was Nic who changed to suit the game plan of the coach.
