Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

Beale is picked at fullback and Lolesio is a specialist 10 only. I don't think it reflects Lolo is on the outter at all, Beale covers 10,12 and is basically last man standing at 15. Having a specialist 10 on the bench doesn't provide much flexibility.

I don't think the selection says Rennie prefers Beale at 10 over Lolo at all. It just says he prefers utilities and flexibility on the bench rather then too many specialists.

He has mentioned this a fews times with choosing players like Samu over McReight as Samu covers 6,7,8 over just a 7.
I think that we really miss Hodge in this regard. He is great at 15 or on the bench and is adequate cover for all back positions including 10

I don’t think Lolesio is a specialist flyhalf, more so an inside centre who isn’t big enough to play test rugby and we are short on depth in the flyhalf channel. Lolesio can continue to be developed over the coming years, so long as we have a solid 15 and 12 to support him. Hodge at 15 and Kerevi at 12 would be Lolesio’s ultimate.

Daugunu v LRZ, 2 ridiculously quick players...shame we are missing vunivalu, the try he nearly scored for the REDS chasing down that kick looked MORE LEGITIMATE than the one LRZ "apparently" scored agaisnt Fiji last weekend

You are assessing him on potential ability or playing style that he is an option at 12. His entire professional career at the Brumbies and Wallabies he has solely played at 10. Maybe he will shift to 12 at some stage, but there is no sign of this at the Brumbies or Wallabies. Pretty safe to say he is a 10 until either of things happen.

I tend to agree with the others here, he’s a converted 12. You blokes had your own issues at 10 and he just happened to be the best fit, and that then fortuitously translated to a gig as Wallabies 10 for the same reason. I’d be surprised if they don’t have a look at Harrison and possibly Gordon at the first available Wallabies camp next year. 10 Harrison 12 Lolesio has worked at the next international level down, it must at least be under consideration given the issues we have in both positions.

Yeh might just be a case of wanting to have a look at Foketi rather then Perese being dropped. I guess it would be a good idea to have a look at some depth at 12.
From all the positive press heard from Rennie about foketi he deserves this shot. Curious myself to see how he goes as was not a fan until last season with tahs where his combo with Perese was one of the few positives.

Skelton on the bench to put in a third aimless performance for a few minutes as he, apparently, gets used to structures and systems of the national side?
No, no, and no.
He should have been all in or all out.
Selected in the run on squad so he can either showcase his highly touted abilities or prove his aimlessness is permanent.
Alternatively, drop him altogether since he has already had two opportunities and fluffed both of them.

I'd prefer to see him start so he can show us some big hits, powerful runs, sublime offloading, and attracting 3 defenders over a 60-70 minute period.
If, just if, he fails at that task then his card can be stamped "never to play in Gold again".

Will is 1.78cm and 83kg. Noah is 1.8m and I can't find his weight but probably around 85 - 88kg. Much too small a combination for my liking at test rugby level.

Carter Gordon is 1.89cm and 93kg, and Bayley Kuenzle is 1.86cm and 92 kg. Hopefully one of these or both start to come through the system next year or soon afterwards.

There is also Pasitoa. Best suited to the centres but time will tell in 2022 if he has what it takes at flyhalf.

Struggling to see why Perese has missed out, our best back in contact absent Kerevi and a thrill to watch with ball in hand. I don’t need to see what Foketi has, I’ve seen Perese run over his NZ opposites and it’s more than enough for me.

I do tend to agree with this premise. However they can both play footy. That’s the massive gap we have currently.
Hunter Paisami is 172cm, albeit 90kg.

This must be the most stupid way to name a team, what's wrong with 1-15 o_O
Traditional Brits way of listing a rugby team, 15 to 9 followed by 1 to 8 and then 16 to 23, fucked if I know why. I'm thinking of starting a movement called 1to23 specifically for the Brits. Some Aussies still list teams 15 to 1.

Some of you are deeply obsessed with size.

Doesn't mean much if you don't know what to do with it.
Players with size have usually used it to their advantage throughout their school and representative rugby. They are more confident in tackling and breaking through the line. What I have found is many with size get to a professional outfit and don’t have great ball skills because they have relied on their size to run the ball themselves. Re-coaching this type of player for their first two years of a professional gig is crucial.
