Mine is a killer at the moment, although I am starting to peak well for the season. Just trying to find the time to do as much as I need to.

They should name a rep team and play in the VRU 7s.

Obviously there are logistical issues but if they had the tournament last weekend, had a train session this weekend for 3 hours, and played next weekend it'd be possible.

You have to qualify for the 7s, it's the top 8 teams from the tournaments on the 16th and 23rd.

Yeah I read that.

I don't understand that though, 9 fits into 3 pools of 3 nicely, with winner of each pool and the best place loser going to finals. Sure best place loser isn't a perfect system but Heiniken Cup does it.

Yeah but when they are restricted for time that seems a long way of doing it. The 8 teams works well IMO.

Country 7s at the weekend was great fun, the day started off with Shepparton, the eventual winners, beating Geelong in an upset. Geelong had the run of play but could not capitalise on their chances and lost to a couple of intercepts.

The other clubs get in on the 7s this weekend at Northern from 3pm-8pm. Not sure on the draw at the moment but when I find out I will let you all know.

At the Rebels trial in Geelong over the weekend there was a handful of really athletic looking guys wearing polos that said Shepparton rugby.

Do they have a side in the country league this year? If so, that's awesome and on appearances they'll do well.
