Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Dean Moriarty

I don't believe you can leave John Connolly out . Nor will they.

He, Grealy , Pasitoa , and Flook are the sure things (as starters) of that back line

NB: George Blake is the best front row forward across any of the 3 starting spots up for grabs. That and Hamish Roberts would be my first starting wing chosen.

Does anyone actually know what this team is being selected for?

I spoke to one of the players and he has sweet FA idea about what they’re doing

"They will be representing themselves, family, friends, and others their age who would love the opportunity to play in an abbreviated Oceania Competition."
The squad will head into camp on June 27 in Queensland before playing in the tournament in early July.

I imagine they are still trying to sort out the details of who else is playing (NZ, Fiji ?), and when, but it will be on the Gold Coast

At a minimum they are playing NZ twice on the GC. The preliminary dates were Tuesday the 6th of July and then again on Saturday the 10th.

There was talk early on about making it a Southern Hemisphere comp including the likes of Argentina , Japan , NZ and Pacific Islands , but looks most likely now to be just NZ and the very outside chance of Fiji being included.

Not sure of the venue, previous Oceania tournaments have been held at Bond.

Reg I know very little about most of these players, and nothing at all about Titi Nofoagatotoa at No 8 but he'd need to be something special to keep Luke Callan out of the starting spot after his excellent work for the Force in recent games.

EDIT : same comment could be made about the No 7 spot, so Will Roach must also be something special. Callan really looks to be a star of the future.

seems you don't know much about Ollie Callan either, Luke's brother, who was the one starting for the Force.

Some very good players missed out due to injury as well.

Mosese Tuipulotu
Joey Walton
Aedo Kailea

Who knows, maybe they wouldn’t of made it even if they were fit but great to see huge talent coming through. We have officially gone from a 5-8 range team on talent for years with 1-2 class talents to a genuine 1-4 ranked team on talent.
