Well, give up a 12-3 penalty count, miss tackles, make BASIC errors. That'll lose you games. Lions were good but not like previous years.

I think they just need a better defense coach. The loss of Ferreira (D. Coach) seems to have a bigger impact than the loss of Ackerman.

Look at the Lions' points differential this year compared to previous years.

Highlights:

Thought the "forward pass" in the Reece non-try wasn't, thought the Jäger (?) "high tackle" at the end wasn't, thought SamW shoulda taken the easy three just on half time as it would've put them five up not just two. NZ teams not wanting to take the three when it's on offer is really starting to shit me, hopefully Shag & Co. drill that outta them for RWC.

Lions have been awarded 43 penalties by SA refs in home games v non-SA opposition (Clan, Rebs & 'tahs) & pinged just SIX times themselves. Egon Seconds' count was 31-3 for the two Aus teams he reffed which is just unbelievably lop-sided. SANZAAR have gotta take a look at his & Rasta's performances.

Quite a good weekend for SA rugby. No losses, first win for the Bulls in Australasia since 2016 and all SA teams have managed a win over there this season.

Pity the Stormers could not win.

Conference starting to run away from them now, but mainly home games left.

Even I can admit there is something wrong.

Man the Crusaders shoulda lost that hey. Complete hail maty crossfield kick comes off and then the stormers winger stuffs a certain try at the death.

At what point do these guys start getting looked at for match fixing, numbers like that can’t be just incompetence or general bias

Great crowd at Newlands. Although the fans deserve better than their anti-try dog of a rugby team. Ball goes straight from rucks to battering ram forward. Then the next. Then the next. All. Day. Long. Backs just stand around waiting til they have to defend again. I think the centre JJ Engelbrecht touched the ball ONCE. And promptly dropped it. Already forgot the name of the other centre. He may have kicked it once but otherwise did not appear on screen.

And where does their anti-fun agenda get them? Fucken nowhere. Dead last in SA conference.

Here's how rugbypass.com sees the Finals make up:

https://www.nzherald.co.nz/rugby/news/article.cfm?c_id=80&objectid=12233455

TLDR:

1. Crusaders
2. Jaguares
3. Brumbies
4. Hurricanes
5. Lions
6. Sharks
7. Stormers
8. Highlanders

Crusaders will clearly win the NZ Conference & be top qualifier, Rebs have imo blown their chance so Brums will win Aus, but SA could go to any of the four still in contention: Jags have the inside running but given the topsy-turvy results in that Conference this year anything could happen.

Four from the SA conference? Crusaders aside, Rebels have three winnable games with a probable bonus point against the Sunwolves. I think they'll make it.

Edit: In retrospect, getting done in by Egon against the Lions has really damaged their season.

Yeah looks like they have just looked at who is playing well, not worked out mathematically who can make it.

Eg loser of highlanders v Stormers is probably done

In the mock up I did, three South African conference teams make it, and it included the Bulls but not the Sharks or Lions.

Stormers are coming from way back but I think they are a really good chance of making it. They have 3 home games all of which they should start favourite in.

Scrafton was excellent. Try saving tackle, high involvement, high accuracy.

Other standouts were Plummer, Akira, Nanai, Clarke and Ofa.

Is it right, you boys talking about the new Canes lock? Great news if Canes have signed Scrafton, it was one thing they badly need, and I would venture they were prepared to pay to get someone like him!!
