Who do we pick, can we expect to win this match on the back of our Samoa performance?

I can tell you who we don't pick.

Timani
Robinson
Davies
Giteau
Alexander
Hodgson
Gerrard

The Wallabies have no right to complain about SA's 2nd string squad, because the door has been left open for South Africa to storm the citadels with a barrage of insults about today's historic loss.

I will say Genia and Beale were quite outstanding. Two fingers crossed for the return of James O'Connor.

Hodgson was crap but so was Beau. Really worried about our 7 depth now. Just hope Pocock is good for 80.

Eh. I'd have Robinson on the bench, he's just not good in tight situations as he goes searching for the ball and gets pinged. I didn't think he was too bad just found wanting. As for McCabe at 12 and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) at 13, REALLLY?

I don't know who else we have but I don't want to see McCabe in our run-on team next weekend, I'd have Fainga'a at 12.

Also not Alexander at 3. He was hopeless today, Slipper would have to be preferred.

Stirling Mortlock (74)
Yeah I'll add in Samo and Fainga'a.

I would have Slipper too but he's still injured I think.

Slipper may be back next week, he was supposed to be out 4 - 6 weeks originally. So far he's missed the Blues semi (I think?), bye, final, and Samoa test. That's 4 weeks out now. Those who have seen the Wallabies training sessions should be able to comment on how Slipper is, or isn't, progressing.

What I'd like to see:-

1. Kepu
2. Moore
3. Baxter (Slipper if fit)
4. Sharpe
5. Horwill
6. Higginbum
7. Pocock
8. Samo
9. Genia
10. Cooper
12. McAbe (JOC (James O'Connor) if fit)
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) (McAbe if JOC (James O'Connor) fit)
11. Ioane
14. Turner
15. Beale

16. Fainga'a
17. Baxter (if Slipper fit) if not Alexander
18. Simmons
19. Robinson
20. McCalman
21. Phipps
22. Davies

Now what will happen:-
1. Kepu
2. Moore
3. Alexander
4. Sharpe
5. Horwill
6. Elsom
7. Pocock
8. McCalman
9. Genia
10. Cooper
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
11. Ioane
14. JOC (James O'Connor)
15. Beale

16. Fainga'a
17. Cowan
18. Simmons
19. Samo
20. Hodgeson
21. Phipps/Burgess (if fit)
22. Davies

20-22 dependant of course on 5:2 split

3. Kepu
4. Horwill
5. Sharpe
6. Elsom
7. Pocock
8. Samo
9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Ioane
12. A Fainga'a (based on great defence but more importantly combination with QC (Quade Cooper) and Sanchez)
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) (needs a chance to prove himself away from Giteau)
14. JOC (James O'Connor)
15. Beale

16. Slipper (Baxter)
17. S Fainga'a
18. Vickerman
19. Hodgson
20. Higginbotham
21. Burgess (Phipps)
22. Turner

Giteau managed to sway me during the S15 into thinking he deserved another chance, but today he showed exactly why again he is past wearing the green and gold. When facing a stiff defensive line, he cuts down all the space for those outside him and he is now long past second chances.

People are being far too harsh on Giteau, he really was not that bad today. Even though he made a couple of errors overall he was solid and played with alot of heart. If you factor in his great super rugby season he deserves to be in the starting 15 in my opinion.

9. Genia
10. Cooper
11. Ioane
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. JOC (James O'Connor)
15. Beale

20. Burgess (Phipps)
21. McCabe
22. Turner

Difficult team to pick. McCabe could easily be in the starting lineup after today.

I honestly think we need to start A. Finger for this test. I just don't see any other way.

Why is that? He is definitely a very good player, however I think he would be more likely to start on the bench if he plays.

John Solomon (38)
well you see with center options we have

gits
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)

mccabe
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)

Gits

Definitely, it is good to have options. It will be interesting to see who plays against SA.

I think it will be a similar team to what we put out late last year (just no fatcat).

Kepu
Moore
Slipper (if fit, otherwise Alexander)
Sharpe
Horwill
Elsom
Pocock
McCalman
Genia
Cooper
Ioane
Giteau
AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
JOC (James O'Connor)
Beale

Fa'ainga
Alexander / Cowen
Simmons
Higgenbotham / Samo
Burgess
McCabe
Turner

Incidentally, Beau Robinson is easily the cover for Pocock. Hodgson was atrocious, Robinson had an impact.

actually i reckon deans goes with a 5:2 split on the reserves as gits can cover 9, meaning phipps will be cut and beau in for 20.
