AB's need to get the breakdown balance right. So many options.

- becoming difficult to drop Blackadder.
- Fozzie_Company_Man4Life + Ardie being captain = Ardie is undroppable
- Akira due a rest?
- is Jacobsen alright?
- is Sotutu the next Zinny?
- please God, Dalton Papalii is back?

would like to see:

6 Blackadder (rucks)
7 Papalii (rucks)
8 Sotutu (wider)

guessing we'll see:

6 Papalii (rucks)
7 Ardie (wider)
8 Jacobsen (rucks)

Bokke named already:

Willie le Roux, Sbu Nkosi, Lukhanyo Am, Damian de Allende, Makazole Mapimpi, Handré Pollard, Faf de Klerk; Duane Vermeulen, Kwagga Smith, Siya Kolisi (captain), Lood de Jager, Eben Etzebeth, Trevor Nyakane, Bongi Mbonambi, Ox Nché. Reserves: Malcolm Marx, Steven Kitshoff, Vincent Koch, Franco Mostert, Jasper Wiese, Herschel Jantjies, Elton Jantjies, Frans Steyn.

Malherbe & van Staden injured, Nche & Wiese come in & Nyakane switches from LHP to THP. Kolbe was in the frame but his injury flared up at training.

Expecting minimal changes to AB 23 & they'll probably even give Bridge another crack. Tactics & captaincy need to improve i.e. take the three when on offer (as we did v Wobs against a lesser lineout than SA has) & get the ref to do something about the time-wasting. Even have a pre-game chat or make a video if he's not up for a pre-game chat. Gotta get it into his head that bokke are wasting time & he needs to address it.

Mahlerbe and Van Staaden were two of the better performers on Saturday, it will hurt the Boks to be missing them.

Mentioned in other thread, but good chance this round will be played without crowds given the covid outbreak in Brisbane... At least its the last game of the series so shouldn't impacts too much.
The NRL Final is on Sunday night , no way Anna will cut crowds before then …..

Enough FUCKING AROUND with this Gorge Bridge clown.

Get this Scott Hamilton-lite garbage OUT of my All Blacks XXIII FFS.

Rieko Ioane and Will Jordan are TEST MATCH RUGBY TRY SCORING MURDER MACHINES on the wings.

Next cab off the rank? Wifebeater Reece.

Jorge Bridge? What? Why? HOW?

Enough with the All Blacks caps as participation lollipop "give everyone in the squad a turn" charity bullshit.

ps George Bridge will be on the end of the line and walk in 4 tries in the AB's vs USA test and become a household name in America. "We had no answer for that George Bridge guy. What an All Black!"

Aaron Smith showing what AB are missing most right now:

TJP by comparison is slower to get the ball in the air, slower through the air, and has neither the range nor the accuracy of Smith. Hence everyone saying the answer to the bokke rush defence is for Beaugan to stand deeper & kick more are wrong from the get-go as by standing deeper he's probably making himself more vulnerable to getting isolated. I'd also suggest that proponents of the grubber need to look at how seldom it's effective these days - I think that's due to how quickly the D-line is coming up & that they're coming up flat leaving no real gaps to kick into. We all know how good Beaugan is on the chip & chase but, again, if his 9 can't give him the time & space to execute then that, too, becomes less of an option. Not sure of the answer here as I don't think Weber passing game is that much better you can forgo TJ acting as almost an extra loosie in close.

I said on this site when Smith didn't travel he was our biggest loss. I still think he one of main reasons ABs play the way they do with his pass.

Look for the grubber is the right half of the field with advantage. It's the Boks, you should have some.

A deeper 10 isn't always bad. This is what Quade has done to allow more time to avoid the intercepts that Lolo was throwing. You do need to manage it with run makers. Should be plenty of those at the ABs.

GC Bulletin has the last round of TRC at CBus Stadium as a sell out crowd and Dan Herbert in his roll in the RWC 2027 bid claiming it as an endorsement for us hosting the RWC.

Fuck I hope the Covid numbers stay down !

Ok team I think, Blackadder would be a little unhappy, but can understand not wanting to hammer him again this week. Hopefully Weber will get enough good ball and pass a bit quicker than TJP, will help with rush defence. Will be interesting test again!

Bullrush

Geoff Shaw (53)
I like this team

Ardie at his best position
Akira gets a second shot - needs to prove he is not a flat-track bully.
Retallick rarely has 2 average games in a row.
Reiko back to wing with a proper mid-fielder at 13

Big questions for me:

1. Is Weber a lot better than TJP? Here's his opportunity to stake that claim.
2. Will the ref allow the continual stoppages and breaks in play from the Boks?
3. Will we see something different to combat the rush defence?

I think the ABs will win comfortably.

They dragged a squad of 43 players along and about 28 got to play in 4 games.

This game surely was a chance to try something different. I hope I am wrong, but this smacks of the coaches doubling down. "We will show you that our game plan is perfect!"

Stubborn. They are in dangerous territory. Lose this game and another early on in the NH tour and all the love for Rassie and Nienaber will evaporate. I would agree. This game plan is simply not sustainable.

Seems international coaching is like that, coaches have an innovative plan that gets them on top for a couple of years to great success. Other teams figure it out and it becomes ineffective, but coach still too dogged & stubborn to let it go, so coach ends up leaving unfavourably a few years after brilliance. Like Cheika, Gatland with Wales & Lions, Eddie Jones with England.
