^ if I've ever learned anything it's that assumption is both the mother & father of all ckusterfucks :)

Anyway, stay safe Melbournians (is that what you're called?).

From the NZ Hurld just now:

"A Rebels spokesperson has confirmed to [NZ radio station] Newstalk ZB the club left the country following their defeat to the Hurricanes in Wellington on the weekend, and said they will wait for the bubble to reopen before returning to the otherside of the Tasman.

"It is understood the Rebels are currently in meetings to discuss their next steps while receiving further advice from the Australian Government."

Are these photos from today? If so, they are back in Melbourne.

Isn't that Lachie Anderson though and wouldn't he be training full time with the Aussie 7s now?
back in Melbourne, they were training this am at AAMI. i suspect that management decided it is best to be locked in Melbourne rather than locked out of Australia on a worst case scenario. edit: 9 cases now in melbourne and highly likely to grow.

Even with the Chiefs yet to play their fourth match I think it's pretty clear neither they nor the Hurricanes can realistically make the Final (even with a BP win v Rebs today, Chiefs will still sit fifth & be three points off the third-placed (on Points Differential) Crusaders).

Blues have 19 points & a PD of 109 with the Force their final opponent at home.
Highlanders are 18 & 82 with Brumbies away.
Crusaders are 18 & 71 with Rebels away (but probably in Sydney* not Melbourne)

Highlanders are the most vulnerable imo, Brums are damn hard to beat at home & even if Clan do get the W it's hard to see them doing so with a BP.

You'd expect CruSadists to bring back the likes of Mo'unga & Whitelock to ensure they score maximum points, which they'll obviously need if they're to overtake the Clan.

Loss Bleus should be too good for Force & may struggle to come away with a BP but it's difficult to imagine that CruSadists can lift their PD by 38 more than Loss Bleus, so they go in as top seeds regardless imo (unless, of course, Force produce a major upset).

Blues v Crusaders Final at Eden Park looks likely to me.

* Edit: definitely in Sydney - 4:35 Saturday NZ time at Leichhardt.

Don't worry. The Good Guys forwards will overrun the Force and their heavy defence will secure a winning BP, leaving the Evil Empire languishing in a sorry, frantic, race for second place. You love to see it.

^ Loss Bleus are last to play (7:05 Saturday NZ time) so will know exactly what's needed to secure a Home Final. Clan OTOH are first (9:45 Friday) so could be quite the nervous wait for them.

Melbourne should move their game to Perth. Double bonus of making Canterbury travel and the Rebels getting a hostile reception from the locals

Looks like a natural amphitheatre to me:

18-2 now. Have to say those 2 Aussie wins are worth like 11 Kiwi wins so the score is really like eleventy-18. A clear victory for us and not the depression inducing cycle of trauma that is watching rugby in this country.

And as we can all see Crusaders who won the Super Ao, are struggling to make the finals of TT, and Chiefs who were losing finalists have no chance of making it! We as Kiwis are being continually embarassed in the full TT comp!!

2 x 11 would mean the score is 22-18, we win!
