It's not so bad.. While Pocock is seen as our future, has he not been shown up throughout the trinats as well?
I can't believe they're leaving Phil Waugh at home.. He's goona kill some kid in Rd1 of the S14.
He has more fire from the bench than George while admittedly not having the kicking skills.

I don't he played lock at all this season but apparently was running at lock in the Test training side whilst Chisolm was crocked. I have bad memories of part time locks not being able to bind at scrum time (at Twickenham). ::)

I'm loving the wings of Hynes and Ioane I reckon that will be very dangerous.

I wouldn't be taking too much notice of the media speculation. Most of the rumblings regarding Smith, etc have been coming from Grumbles and his track record of prredicting sides isn't the best. I think we'll probably see:

1. Robinson
2. TPN
3. Alexander
4. Horwill
5. Chisolm
6. Elsom
7. Smith
8. Palu
9. Genia
10. Barnes
11. Ioane
12. Giteau
13. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)
14. Mitchell/Hynes
15. Turner

16. Moore
17. Dunning
18. Mumm
19. Pocock
20. burgess
21. JOC (James O'Connor)
22. Hynes/Mitchell

Shalom Ishmael,

It seems quite possible to me that the Wallabies would run an A-minus team for this game.

But you're right about Grumbles.

Maybe. But I would have thought Deans would be looking for a really good performance gaainst the AB's to build into the GS tour. There'll be plenty of opportunity for the squad as a whole to get a workout in the midweek games.

I think Smith will start and I would also have Cooper on the bench. I think he has progressed really well over the last 2 years.

And you haven't got Cross in the 22. He's in, bro, he's in, whether we like it or not.

Really? Christ, I hope not. Who says Cross is in?

I would quite like to see Cross have a run in Tokyo. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) could then go back to 15 and we could have Ioane and Hynes on the wings. That sounds like a back 3 that Deans would be quite happy with.

Gossip in the papers.

We'll consider Smith and Cross to be test cases in the research question: "Can you tell a matchday 22 from watching training, to see who is wearing the B-team bibs." I'll see if I can get some government funding.

Last time Cross started in the midfield we leaked 2 soft tries through that channel.

Scarfman, I think your research proposal might meet with some strong opposition from certain media figures whose weekly columns would be reduced to a smattering of NSWRU backroom chatter if speculation about match day 22's based on watching a few drills from the car while chowing down on a 4 and 20 was revealed to be without scientific basis.

:) The answer is "no". Best of luck with the funding application.

I don't really get this business of the Wallabies and AB's playing (yet another :sleepy ) test match in places like Tokyo (and HK last year).

What's with this?
Does an offshore test really generate that much more revenue than one hosted in a place where the fans actually live?

Or are the fan attendances so poor in Aus / NZ that you actually do better elsewhere?

Japan and Hong Kong paid the wallabies and all blacks $millions to play there, how could they say no?

Well I guess that makes sense then TOCC.
Thanks for clarifying.
