Won't make sense. You have two other guys on the park who can cover 10 plus Pienaar on the bench. So another 10/12 cover makes no sense.
I am happy that we can bring real pace off the bench in de Jongh and Hougaard.

Geez I thought not making sense was the whole point here and I was just catching up
Guthro played well. Little bit of Paarl info about him. Guthro was the first player of colour going through the Paarl big two rugby schools mill. His mum is a teacher at Klein Nederburg, the producer of the real Paarl pearl, Chester Williams and Burton Francis, Lions 10. Guthro and Jean de Villiers played against each other in Interschools. Paarl Gim first player of colour making it to the top is Ashley Johnson, captained them in 2004 and should have been in NZ at the moment. He is in excellent form at this very moment and hurt the Sharks this weekend in the CC.As you lot know, I'm a big, big fan of Gurthro Steenkamp.
Saturday showed why. He's still only three-quarters match-fit, but does everything Beast can - without dropping the ball in contact - and is a beautiful scrummager. Toulouse have bought a pearl.
Another game like this, I'd start him against Samoa and for the quarter.

Keo was on Murry Deakers show on Sunday the original Sports Jock of NZ. Was bordering on the hysterical all things anti Pdv and SARFU and how they had no chance getting past the quarters. Not that it is a big surprise and Ryan Vrede article certainly echos my feelings that even though it was a big improvement you just had the feeling the players felt unsure whether it really was them doing this and it was working!!!
There have been periods this last two matches that had me impressed and certainly gives me the confidence to say they have a chance! That 3 mins leading up to the first Welsh try comes to mind.
That and hopefully they will look at the tapes and have so much experience that they just know what it will take to win this!
Namibia game will do little or prove anything other than giving the reserve players a run around with probably a very powerful bench as back up.
I have just be given three tickets and will be taking my two SA born kids but NOT my Kiwi wife to this Thursdays game!
That will keep my record of going to at least one RWC game since 91. Other than 2003.
I think he is a fantastic player. Two years ago pre-injury he was being talked about as one of the best LH props in the world. I forgot about it, but saw glimpses of it this weekend.
MASSIVE loss for the Bulls. Hopefully the next Bok coach keeps him involved. His scrummaging will benefit from frogging it.
Still waiting for his big hits.
I think he's timed his move to France superbly. For a Bok player, it's run-of-the-mill for the next four years; it's a non-Lions RWC cycle. So, a lot of it is about a) personal development b) player development c) getting some cash in a short career (and God knows, they're entitled to). Bakkies to Toulon for a shift was a good example.
For KleinOs, Gurthro, he's joining a serious scrummaging league, which will do wonders for his development as a player. He gets used to NH conditions, and playing HEC-style rugby, which will be big for knock-out play in RWC 2015. He gets a shedload of cash, and good luck to him. He gets to travel Europe, and live in a wonderful part of the world. He gets to play with Toulouse - and that's huge, because Guy Noves is a barking-mad genius, and the jeu de main, jeu Toulousain philosophy is a big thing; he won't suffer in terms of handling skills, and I would reckon the contrary. And he can spend two to three years there, and - touch wood - come back ready for road to reintegrate himself with full-on Bok rugby for RWC 2015.
I think he, and Toulouse, have made an excellent call on this one.
The thing is, of all SH sides, the one that plays most like Ireland is probably SA (unsurprisingly given the staff, but it's historical). Not big into flashy back play, but huge emphasis on the lineout as an attacking weapon, heavy use of the set-piece, and a ferocious contestation of the breakdown.
There is a template now firmly established by Bled 1, the third quarter of Bled 2 and last Saturday to beat this Wob team; and it, in essence, classic Bok rugby. It's doable; all the more so as some players are coming into form at the right time.
Told you Snor can think out of the box but you keep on critisizing the Bokke coaching staff. Is it a Brutes thing? Deans attrack so much attentention from the Kiwis, they have completely forget about Snor planning their choke from the inside of his kas.Apparently PdV has seen the light and recognised that Steyn is a better option at 12.
That's pretty good analysis. One thing I would add is if it rains during the expected quarter final between the Wallabies and Springboks, the Boks have the perfect game to win.I can't help but agree with Ryan Vrede:

Is it his skin colour or voice that have you blaffing? No Paarl. It's a "PDivvy is a muppet" thing.
He is a muppet, no? Or are you suddenly going to tell me he is a great coach who has it all figured out. No? I didnt think so.
And that is hardly out of the box thinking. Piet has never been inside the box. Ever. He wouldn't be able to describe to you what the inside of the box looks like.
