Welcome to the forums of Green & Gold Rugby.

Over the coming months we will continue to make more changes to make the forum more user friendly for all to use.
Thanks, Admin.
Pocock's just a machine. He's my bet for the medal (I was not indicating that cooper would/should get the medal - I was just surprised that one statistic was waaay out of whack with others who have been playing in the same time period).
I understand what period the gong is for but is it the case that the players vote on a 3-2-1 basis? I really don't know for sure.
If it is the case then we should not be posting about who we think is the best player, but who we think the players think is the best player.
It should be the same? Not necessarily - I remember that the players used to have this vote when Eales was playing and he never polled that well - yet he could play.
I don't know what the historical winning totals have been but Beale's winning total of 127 last year seems very low.
Considering 22 people vote on a 3-2-1 basis, 132 points are handed out for each and every test match.
A unanimous man of the match performance could net you 66 votes from a single game. Well, let's say 63 as you presumably don't vote for yourself.
Pocock and Barnes would seem to me likely to poll well ahead of everyone else. You'd have to think Pocock will score very close to 63 points for the quarter final against the Springboks at the RWC and Barnes will score very highly in 5 tests against Wales.
Throw in a bit of emotion from the test where he flew back after the birth of his first child and you'd have to think he'll poll very close to 63 points for that match.
I went looking for the odds at various bookies yet no one seems to offer betting on it. Spoke to a few of them and they said it's due to the winner already being known?
Last year they had fans in the stands cheering during the awards. The night had more atmosphere. Why did they change it back to the cabaret style layout at tables?

True that would have been nice this time around too but at the same time I like how plain the Rugby awards are in comparison to the tarted up versions the AFL & NRL have.
