BTW; the regulations are 400 pages. They'd be sending a complete copy, as well as complete copies of the Tournament regulations and all statements. Those are what get sent in a citing. But the charge sheet specifies the exact regulation broken, so he knows which page it is. Anything less than the whole lot and he'd be complaining about that, too.

Just as an aside, could I ask how you know that?

Think you are defending the indefensible re: Samoan tweeter. The guy didn't stop even after the complaints were flooding in.

It is a terrible shame that the Samoan campaign has ended like this.
I am a big advocate of 'what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch' which means no bitching.
But everyone likes to have a whinge when they feel hard done by, just best to keep it in the sheds rather than spray it out into cyberspace media.
In my pov many of the 'minnows' have a lot to bitch about re pool match times.
I hope they get together and loby the IRB for more fairness.

Since when is this about mouthguards? This guy was encouraging death threats aimed at Nigel Owens. Why would anyone defend him. The IRB need to take action against this crap.

In one of the GaGGER podcasts, the players tell us they were heavily briefed on how they can and can't use twitter during the world cup. Now go and have a look at his twitter account. (and i'd guess he has taken some of the worst tweets down already).

Exactly, that is how civilized people work things out. Make a petition or something. Make a website, make some videos, write some blogs/essays. Abusing the IRB and referees through social networking is just moronic.

I hope they get together and decide to be less stupid. Worst of it is that the whole sad episode kicked off over a decision that Owens didn't even make.

Not to mention how bad it looks when a player is calling the world cup "fixed" and "rigged" every 5 minutes. Talk about bringing the game into disrepute.

Just out of interest, what do you mean by this? I don't doubt the truth of it, but surely favouring QCs was due to their expertise rather than any allegiance to the mother land. Or have I misunderstood?

We have an equivalent: SC's not appointed by the queen

I guess the only defense open to him would have to be.... someone hacked my twitter acount, or maybe just the old school so drunk I can't remember.

It just looks like a big spray of anger and hate. If it was just at the IRB, really, who gives a damn as every organisation should be big enough to cope with dissatifaction. But it is the personal attack on the ref that is just not Rugby.
btw to say something is 'Gay' in 2011 is not essentially a homophobic slur as the word in the world of the under 30's 'Gay' now means 'bad or wrong'.

Why do the samoans have to play more than 1 game in 7 days when we dont? If tis good enough for them its good enough for us: lets find tou whose got the depth....
Owens was the one who made a big deal of his sexuality - who the fuck cares? They should be like Dick Byers - no one knew when he reffed a game: they are facilitators not performers... not only his face ook page but he came out in the UK press - great, good on him, but he's a ref not a player - what about Gareth Thomas? guess the problem is he played like a poof (joke)
I agree his twitter account seems a bit OTT but look at the context

I watched the game closely, twice, and thought on three occasions that Samoa was totally robbed with very bad ref calls.
I guess it does not really matter to unhappy Samoans who made which individual decision, there is only one ref in a rugby game, so he has copped the spray.

After Samoa's recent thrashing of the Wallabies and their excellent form expectations were very high for Samoa.
I hope that Samoan Rugby does not suffer as a result of this and are not kicked in the shins by the IRB.

What are you trying to say? That he should be excused for his constant attacks on the IRB, calling the game rigged and encouraging violence against refs?

If all the players behaved like this after games test rugby would become a joke.

Not getting what the contextual setting was that made this ok?

Every game has bad calls that you can catch with the benefit of hindsight. Hate the retrospective scrutiny of every decision. true I get nervous that the rugby games can be totally decided by ref, but that's the way it goes. Move on. I haven't mentioned the penalty we weren't awarded for at least three hours.
