How's that conversion to hooker going
It got cancelled. The coach decided its easier to convert Hooper to centre.

He doesn't look over 105kgs to me, he's still short.
I thought Pocock was outstanding. I got the impression that he is trying to show Cheika that he can be just as useful with ball in hand as Hooper. Ran the ball really well, hit the line hard and got at least 1 superb line-break.
As always worked very hard at the ruck, and got a few pilfers. Also did a great job running the show for the Brumbies at the back of the maul. Excellent performance.
Not quite as good as Gill though, who probably put in the best performance from any Reds player this season.
How many loosies were beasts at the last RWC and aren't today due to the law changes?
BSands , the French like the Saffas play the openside position as 6.If Theirry can play 6, then surely so can Dave.
If Liam was playing 7, we wouldn't even need to lift Dave.

Next I'll be reading that the Holy One has grown and is reportedly now 6ft 6 inches
Not really. You have to change the attack and defence structures to compensate for loss of specialist skills offered by true 6s of 7s which ever way you go. No fetcher for instance need to be prepared to target rucks for counter ruck. Lineouts are effected, scrum effected, attack channels for support runners..... There is always a trade off. Think back to Waugh & Smith in 2003 or McCalman in 2011. Also need to consider law interpretations as FP had pointed out. It's all a grand tapestry.Thankyou Gnostic. Much appreciative.
The South African's certainly reverse their backrow numbers, however are not playing a fetcher at all (apparently Heindrich is no good) so in line with the Australian model are almost playing two 6's anyway.
The French however play a left and right flanker model, similiar to how we play wingers. It is not that Theirry is a 7 with a six on his back, but that they prefer more dogsbody type athletes who can bring characteristics of both positions. Generally with an athletic (read 6'5") dominant ball-carrying player @ 8.
But that aside, I think my point still stands?
