I was cheering then crying then, well going nuts when that kick went over!

I thought back to the game considered the greatest of all time when we lost to the AB's in Sydney and you know what. I think that may have been better.

Im not saying that we arent idiots for letting it get to that point where we almost lost after a fantastic start but, from a neutral point of view. that game had everything.

here is a link to the game considered the best ever until today:

i don't know enough of the history, but my inclination now is to say close, but not the greatest. the quality from the boks in the 1st half and then the aussies in the 2nd was so poor. great start, great comeback, great last minute win. but not altogether greatest for me.

if it was more back and forth, consistent quality i would say yes. or if it had been a straight steal and score at the end maybe. i think it was a penalty from what i saw live, but we were certainly fortunate (dare i say lucky) to get the call that allowed for the kick. it was sealed for the saffas before that happened.

One of my favourite games ever was Fiji v RSA RWC 2007 great game and nearly the biggest upset

The all blacks game in sydney was a classic

Agree with Newb in that the quality of RSA in the 1st half was shocking, same for Aus in the second half. That sort of rules it out for an all time great

I've said it somewhere else, but I think both sides played irresistible rugby in each half

I covered my eyes when kurtley took the kick. I saw the flags go up then i fell on the ground crying, followed by punching the air.

I've just read the entire transcript of the live call.

The sweet taste of success :lmao:

That's an image I'll be trying to scratch out of my brain.

Massively hungover this morning and I didn't even get to watch any rugby. Looking forward to watching it tonight.

I don't think you can say, that was the greatest game of rugby ever - you can however argue that was up there with the greatest Wallaby victories ever.

Greatest victory possibly, only because we so very nearly stuffed it up.

Greatest game - Na. Too many basic errors by both teams to warrant that tag. A game of two halves as they say in the classics.

Like poor old Beez Kneez in Safferland, alcohol sometimes causes us to say, do, and type things we may otherwise not say, do or type.

Notwithstanding Moses's contributions, there are some classics in the live GAGR call. I suspect alcohol was a factor.

With you there. I am usually one of those embarrassing myself!! Made my morning...well, that and the replay of the game.

You might not have noticed, but I "quietly" slipped away when Fainga'a got sent to the bin. (By quietly I mean only cursing, not smashing stuff 'round the house)

That effort by Victor M just on 1/2 time must go down as the play of the season.

Is it me or did it look like he had time to pat the wobboly defender on the back as he breezed past?

awesome play - scoop, shimmey, chip and chase, regather, and feed off to the 13 to fall over the line for 7 points at oranges.

All this from a 101 Test Capped veteran. Priceless
